Jazz fest Saturday's are done for me. It is a danger zone and huge accident waiting to happen now with the crowd. After Elton John last year I thought they would figure out the crowd situation and they would put a per day ticket cap

When you sell tickets as good for any day you can't cap sales

Nothin went wrong yet. But this year and last year for Elton it is to the point you can't escape. Almost impossible to get out of the crowd and reach an exit or bathroom

They learned from the airlines.

You have to pay extra if you don't want to suffer.

Alright smartass. I have been every year for the last 15 years. Last year forward the first year it was ever a true issue. I think the New Orleans festivals are just exploding in popularity for outsiders

Read the threads last year. It was a problem

Well what would you suggest they do? Limit the number of attendees?

I hate being cramped up next to trashy, sweaty people

I would suggest the sell Saturday and Sunday only tickets to control the crowd. It is a simple concept that they actually said they would do after Elton last year

It is an issue that needs to be addressed.
And Jazzfest is the least trashy festival in the state

Elton was bad, I had only been a handful of time prior and could tell a crowd that size was an accident waiting to happen. We were all the way at the front of the stage near the railing, I couldn't imagine what would have happened if we needed to get out quickly for an emergency.

Festivals are stupid and enjoying music outside is trashy.

That's why I avoid Acura. That's where the trash tends to go. Don't feel like fighting through the shirtless old men and the fat bitches sitting in the crowd in their fold up chairs when I could be seeing someone else.

I have tickets from my company now. I am simply making an observation about Jazz fest. It is upsetting to me.

I like jazz fest, but I'm definitely going to have to disagree with you on that one

Thought JF was putting in bleachers and keeping the walkway clear. Did not that work out, or did that just mean they were installing the hipster band Bleachers

They stacked major acts in the same time slot: Pearl Jam, Van Morrisson, and Boz Scaggs are splitting the crowd. They are also enforcing the chutes. It really isn't bad.

As for bathrooms, there are scores of them. Haven't waited for more than three minutes.

It's been a great day.

I just got back and OP is 100% right. Bleachers were way way out there and not well populated. The track for Pearl Jam was a blockade. It felt like people were about to start panicking, we had to bail before we got trapped. I've gone to JF for many years and never seen it that bad. I was out of town for last year's apparent debacle but it seems nothing was learned.
