They open at 2 or 3am so delivery vehicles can enter the street. At some time the bollards open.

There is plenty other places you can go to get shot or mugged. We went downtown unwillingly for Xmas to Antoine’s and the Roosevelt and the dope being smoked on the streets and sketchy people kept me looking over my shoulder.

This has been covered. The barricades were being replaced/upgraded before Super Bowl. Project started in Nov according to Advocate article.

Also for cleaning crews. It’s a heavy operation.
I believe we recently replaced all the sliding barriers due to years of neglect. Lots of trash, cups and beads obstructed the barriers from sliding into place.
