Yes that was what seemed like the factual information most of the day. They knew who owned the vehicle and he lived near Houston and confirmed it was rented from there.
Now all the loony toons with their rumors have muddied things up again.

I think something like this works a lot better:
"Every federal law enforcement organization is working as hard as they can right now to ensure the safety of all Americans, running down every lead to capture those responsible for this horrible attacks.
