Levi is fooling himself if he thinks there isn’t a lot of money to be saved by refocusing NOAA and in turn NWS to what their actual mission should be. Model development isn’t going to get cut. The NWS is a dinosaur anyways. Archaic and slow to change forecasts when weather is unfolding.

What do we need NOAA for? We have the OT.

NOAA has been corrupted with fear porn global warming bull shite. Faking data to back their cause. Abolish the NOAA
Like NASA and many other federal agencies, they went woke with the global warming hoax and DEI bullshite. I’m sick of hearing about atmospheric rivers and polar vortex and every freaking weather event gets a name
NOAA and NWS could be cut 80% without skipping a beat. Keep 20% for maintenance of bowie‘s sensors and hardware that collect the data. Satellite budget too.
The bigger picture… AIl this data will eventually be fed into AI models that will forecast weather more accurately than we’re getting now. Unfortunately, no need for all those people working now. Cold reality
As for Hurricane warnings just use the European model. They owe us anyway.

Odumbf*ck turned NOAA and NASA into nothing more than the government’s lead fraudulent propaganda machines for the climate hoax. Every dollar that they spent promoting this junk science needs to be taken out of their budgets for the next 10 f*cking years.

sounds like another Far Left Wing Conspiracy Theory.

This is absolutely where we are headed IF we can get rid of the Luddites at the NWS. Ai will give us scary accurate forecasts at a fraction of the cost. But be sure, the NSW will fight tooth and nail to keep a their overpaid staff on the tit.....just like every gov agency thats been cut so far.

This is ripped straight out the document. Pg. 664 if you are interested in looking for yourself

He's actually one of the few I tolerate. I'll give him a pass here and say he's just running cover for friends he knows in the industry. I would lie for my people too and would hope they do the same for me.

Immediate 33% cut to NOAA and targeted for eventual complete elimination of the agency. If this goes through, and theres really nothing to stop it, , spring storm season and hurricane season will be interesting
You do know that they get 70-80% of their forecast from computer models.

Project 2025
This just proves that the heritage foundation has stated this.
Also, I didn’t have a lot of issues with Project 2025, but it is independent of Trump’s 47 plan. The left also blew project2025 out of proportion by constantly posting about their interpretation of project2025 instead of what it specifically stated in its entirety. They outright lied about it being Trump’s plan.
quote:This is an accurate statement for a lot of federal govt agencies. Not saying all services should stop. It’s about who can best perform services for taxpayer dollars spent or taxpayer’s increased debt.
The NOAA should be dismantled and many of its functions eliminated, sent to other agencies, privatized, or placed under control of states and territories
quote:You are pushing the lie that Project 2025 is Trump’s. There will be similar ideas as happens with Dems and think tanks on the left, but in this specific case the left has to get the it’s Trump’s Project 2025 dick out of their mouths. It didn’t work in November, and Dems approval rating percentages have dropped into the 20s because they keep doing what didn’t work.
Regardless the statement is very broad so it will be completely at their desertion as to what happens.

AI will give you a forecast based on model data, but the accuracy will still be reliant on models that have inherent biases and error. AI can save money by having no workforce, but humans out forecast straight up black and white model data by a lot. At least I do, can’t speak for everyone.

I think for most that understands the scope of both organizations, trimming the unnecessary is fine but maintaining how they capture the data and provide the data including the infrastructure likely should be kept.
Opens the door for potential efficiencies like leveraging AI solutions.

They deny knowing about Project 2025 but so far they're following Project 2025 to a T.
A large portion of 2025 is basic common sense. It was the weird religious shite that was causing issues.
I love how it's well known most government agencies lean hard left, but somehow it's a bad thing when the Republican president comes in and tries to change that.
I don't know if NOAA and NWS should have cuts or not, but literally every program that has or will have cuts trots out someone to say how bad it will be.
