Lots of famous, talented people are pieces of shite..

Having talent and being famous doesn't make someone less human.. Or change who they are..

Can we get some sparknotes on this article? Ain't nobody got time to read all that.

I’ve only read half of it but so far:

- Jacque (main girl in article) wrote some songs for James Brown and got close to him.

- James Brown ran his musical empire like a mob and acted like an a-hole to his fellow musicians; had police officers on his payroll

- Brown had a long history of drug use and domestic abuse of his wives.

- Brown got high on PCP and raped Jacque for hours in the woods; he said he couldn’t finish so he just kept going at it.

- Seemed like no matter what Brown was accused of, the case was either dropped or he was hit with a light fine despite there bein hard evidence against him

- Ostracized Jacque and ruined her music career

- Jacque was close with his third wife Adrienne who supposedly died of natural causes; Adrienne was a frequent victim of Brown’s violent actions

- Turns out there’s evidence that a doctor was hired to murder Adrienne with medications

- Jacque claims to have evidence that Brown too was murdered but I haven’t gotten to that part yet

Mike Judge did 2 episodes on James Brown in his Tales From the Tour Bus series on Cinemax, pretty interesting if you have access.

James Brown's dance moves just look like what doing coke feels like. And for good reason.

His development of The One (emphasis on the downbeat) was the core of Funk and has bled through a lot of other genres since then. That along with the emphasis on the bass track were revolutionary.
