I'd love to ride my bike...but around here, people make a sport of trying to run bike riders off the road.

It is a safety thing. They don't want you trying to squeeze past them within the lane, so the "take the lane' and force to go around them as you would a car.

Depends. If it's a big group, they may be trying to help you out. Passing 20 riders who are two across is easier than passing 20 in single file. That's a longer string of riders. They may be being "courteous".

Or it could be debris. I was riding last weekend with a HUGE shoulder commonly ridden by cyclist. But someone three a box of nails on the side, so everyone had to take up the lane.

Admit it.....you were that douche riding his 10 speed in the middle lane on Poydras yesterday, huh? Hope you learned your lesson when I got over on you that car lane =/= bike lane
