It is now that time of year again where we, as Louisianians, can now hop back on our bikes and be true stewards to our planet and commute to work on our bikes.

It truly is a glorious feeling passing by all those angry, bitter people, sitting in their cars, as we bike commuters feel the glorious rays of sunshine and cool fall air in our faces.

So hop on that fixie with bullhorns or that vintage Bianchi and enjoy this most wonderful time of the year!

Hope to see all you guys out on the city streets!

I rode my bike to work everyday this week thru downtown H-Town. Granted, it's only a 1 mile commute but sure beats the hell out of taking the homeless filled Metro Rail.

what's your bike of choice?

I rode all over in Park City, all day, and never broke a sweat with 97 degree temps. sometimes I think I was born in the wrong state

About damn time. It's only been higher than 90 degrees here everyday since April.

I will say it's glorious zipping thru all the out of sync traffic lights while vehicles play stop/go taking them 30 minutes to go a mile and a half thru downtown even when it's no traffic.

On our local "share the road" highway, cyclists in groups will ride to the far right side, but as you approach behind them in your car, a couple of them fan out into the center of the lane. Is this some safety move or just douchery?

They used to hog the f out of the road until the Haynesville Shale hit and the oil trucks started using the road. The truckers didn't take too kindly to road blocking.

It has actually been pretty nice and the cyclists are generally courteous.

Not quite yet. Maybe in a month. I live 3 miles from my office now so I'm really considering doing this.
