Under this KY law... If the kid hide his dope, he would get no charges at all. Or if he got only a misdemeanor for the dope he would still be legally able to carry a gun again as he sells dope at 3 am. Even if he was already arrested for selling dope once.

Good. Him dealing dope should have no impact on his ability to legally own a firearm.

I was more or less referring to the majority more so than just myself. I don't hear much of anyone getting burglarized but you have your car door handle pullers and Petty thieves. I guess if you leave your gun in your car unlocked you got it coming

I'm kind of torn on the CC issue. I have a permit and carry BTW. I understand the argument that it is a constitutional right and that criminals don't get permits. My only hangup (and it is a small one) is that while having a permit might not keep a criminal from carrying, it might keep a well meaning idiot from it.

great idea

permits and licenses in general should be (and once were) unconstitutional. The government should not have the ability to deprive you of essential liberty only to sell it back to you for a price.

Spot on.

So being a "punk hoodlum" negates your Constitutional rights?

Not sure how much I like this. If anything, I think CC classes should be longer as to teach actual applicable skills for self defense and firearm manipulation. I’m all for CC, but I think more training should be available.

There are classes out there for that type of training. Carbine classes, shotgun classes and handgun classes are all offered at different levels of training. It is those classes where one learns hot to actually fight with a firearm.

Some instructors travel throughout the country. A lot of them are former species, rangers, force recon etc. The gun forums are a good first place to look at and you can find who all is in your area and which is a right fit for you.

It is called constitutional carry. Several states have it.

I'm not sure how that ever went away. The constitution doesn't say who can and cant carry nor does it say how you have to carry. it just says you can.

I figure the 2nd amendment already covered carrying a gun.

Unfortunately Heller and McDonald only gave us the right to own a gun and said right is incorporated. Keep an eye out for the New York case, the name slips my mind right now, but it will decide if the 2A applies outside the home. In NYC, you can only transport a gun to a firing range in the city and no where else. That case IMHO will be the foundation on future carry and transporting firearms.

You're misguided and have a bad perception or understanding of how it is supposed to work.

You are wrong on so many levels and give real Patriots a bad name.

Constitutional carry is the correct answer.

Terrible idea. If they’re going to do something like that, gun safety should be required for everyone.

The minute government requires something to exercise a right is the minute the government can use that requirement to deny your right.

Hard to teach safety in a day course. Well, you can “Teach” it but it’s not “learned.”

Safety is learned from growing up around guns and having parents instill good practices so the more freely we allow it, the more safety should hopefully be learned.

The government requires you to exhibit basic competencies to drive a car and show that you can safely handle it.

That doesn't mean they want to take your car from you man.
