great idea
permits and licenses in general should be (and once were) unconstitutional. The government should not have the ability to deprive you of essential liberty only to sell it back to you for a price.

Just saw Ohio is doing it as well. Good. No issues in Georgia. nice to just walk into probate court with a check and thats the extent of your work...
I think GA has a good shot at getting CC under Kemp.

In lousiana, you only have to be 17 years old and have a fricking pulse to open carry a gun.
You see a fair number of douchey frickers doing it too, especially in the suburbs. It's weird as shite.
I had a conceal carry permit but didn’t renew for several reasons. One, I seldom carried. Mostly because I find it a hassle to resubmit all that shite every five years- plus pay again. I keep one in my truck though.

If I were a crazy dictator, I would outlaw all concealed carry, even by law enforcement, and mandate that ALL citizens above the age of 12 openly carry loaded firearms at ALL times in ALL places. Also, private businesses would only be allowed to ban firearms if they provide for security that actually checks for them, and they provide a place for patrons to store their guns while inside.
On the flipside, I would also make dueling legal provided the parties sign a written agreement that they are consenting to the duel, that they wave all rights to insurance coverage or government health coverage for their injuries, that hospitals have the right to refuse service to them if they are unable to pay for their injuries, and that they waive all rights to sue either party with respects to any injury or term executed in the contract in good faith.
I would also make gun safety and marksmanship training mandatory in all schools, so everyone would be trained to use their guns accurately, safely, and responsibly.
If someone wants to shoot up a crowd or attempt armed robbery in my fiefdom, they're going to get met with mutually assured destruction.

You know I probably pass by people in public, all the time who are concealing a pistol and of course I never know it, as it should be.
But these weirdo socially inept dipshits that openly carry a pistol, for no good reason at all are a real curiosity and they loooove to show it off.
I saw this one fricker with one of those baggy, chartreuse day labor t-shirts on. The thing hung past his crotch but he made damn sure that t-shirt lifted over his pistola.

Of all the people that say the required training is great, have you actually taken the training or are you talking out of your arse?
Me? Yes. Been a CHP holder for 15 years.
Of course it's not advanced training- and it's not meant to be. They just want to at least make sure you won't shoot yourself before you finish the class. Just like everything else, it should be the person's own responsibility to become as skilled as possible and pursue further training. At least an advanced concealed carry class.
But do I believe it should be mandated/required? No.
If you think I'm against open carry, end those thoughts right now. We better damn well hope LA stays an open carry state. I do not want to be like Texas when it comes to this- where you can't carry either way WITHOUT a permit. No thank you.
The list of handguns and revolvers that conceal like shite is long- I assume you know that. Some people forget that there was virtually no concealed carry allowed in LA prior to 1996- save for a privileged few with special circumstances. I have to wonder what some people did, in the days prior. If you carried legally, you carried openly. Period. I'm glad the people have more options, these days.

I think its a bad idea and here's why...
I want my CC Permit to hold Value. I want my state CC permit to be honored in all states across the US by law enforcement.
Hoodlums won't take the training and or pay for it, they won't pay the $200 or so for the permit.
I want the hoodlums that are carrying without a Permit to be arrested and their firearm confiscated.
The only people that we need carrying firearms are people that have taken the time to be responsible, background checked and trained to be carrying a firearm.
I do not think it's a good idea that anyone can just carry a firearm. Too many up and coming young punks will be armed because they can.
This is NOT about gun control, as much as it is giving those that carry a permit more validity.
IF I am going to the store and I am searched by a cop, I will be free to go because I carry a permit. Young punk at 3 am in the morning carry a firearm cause he's slinging dope should not be able to go free as well.

The 2nd Amendment disagrees with you.

Why? What does him dealing dope have to do with carrying a firearm?
Posted on 6/27/19 at 1:43 pm to L1C4
I figure the 2nd amendment already covered carrying a gun.

Been this way in Idaho for 2 years. No need to register and concealed carry as long as you're 18. No permit needed. Almost no gun violence. Just a few meth heads running around but they don't have enough money to get a gun anyway

Under this KY law... If the kid hide his dope, he would get no charges at all. Or if he got only a misdemeanor for the dope he would still be legally able to carry a gun again as he sells dope at 3 am. Even if he was already arrested for selling dope once.
To me, this is just one step in getting gun into the hands of the right people and out of the hands of the wrong people.

Not my house. I'm armed to the teeth and have security. Pretty much every dude around here is packing and the meth heads know it. They might try and steal your lawn mower if you leave it outside though. The only violence around here is pretty much domestic.

I am glad that you have such well behaved Meth Heads... But I think that you missed my point...If they wanted a gun they would steal one... somewhere, somehow, someway... The post wasn't really about your home security system. lol
