Which Amendment discusses the right to drive a car?

Hard to teach safety in a day course. Well, you can “Teach” it but it’s not “learned.”

I think it should be a high school mini mester for all students and if you opt out you cannot carry a gun in public.

Because now you can't get arrested for it?

Do explain how that clause specifically applies to operating a motor vehicle.

I prefer it coming from the parent(s) though I understand the limitations that presents since not everyone can afford to do this, financially, for one thing. Requires handgun, ammo, access to shooting range plus fees, etc.

Heller and McDonald only gave us the right to own a gun

You assume I give a damn about Heller/McD. 2nd addresses the right to keep (own) and bear (carry).

There is no "and". You're dug in and that's cool. Stay there.

For you, basic gun safety courses to carry a concealed firearm is an emphatic no and that "no" is rooted in the fear the government wants to rob you of your rights.

Fear kills dialogue on shite like this.

So being a "punk hoodlum" negates your Constitutional rights?

So according to you then.... a person that is a felon because of either armed robbery or Murder with a weapon, can own a gun when they get out of prison because it is their constitutional right?

I never said that. We're talking a "punk hoodlum" peddling dope, not a convicted armed robbery or murder felon.

Well,,, The punk hoodlum is breaking the law by peddling dope at 3am... But according to Kentucky he is allowed to carry a weapon while doing so, cause as you said, it's his constitutional right.

Personally, I don;t approve of Punk Hoodlum Dope peddlers being armed.. But hey.. That's just me... Call me old fashioned I guess.

edit- and even if my state goes constitutional carry, which it has.. I am going to continue to keep my Permit and keep it up to date.

Thankfully the Constitution doesn't require your approval.

To answer the question, "Good idea? Bad idea?", I would have to talk to a law enforcement officer and get their opinion. Something can be constitutional and still be a bad idea for the masses, in my opinion. The world isn't as black and white as a lot of people want to believe. For instance, today if a LEO makes a traffic stop, and finds a person of "questionable character" in possession of a legally purchased firearm, but that person does not have a CHL, can he confiscate the firearm and charge the individual with a crime? That option would go away if no permit is required. My question to the LEO would be, how often does this happen? Does it happen often enough to make it a relevant issue? How often are guns confiscated, in the course their daily work, before the gun can be used in a crime. Granted, they will only go get another gun, but maybe that saved a life that day. I don't know the answer and would not assume I know what's best. Their job is tough enough as it is. Again, not arguing the constitutionality, just the practicality. The right to bear arms is not limited by the permit requirement, concealed or unconcealed. Only monitored so to speak.

Honestly.. I just don;t understand how you can support someone committing a felony while being armed. And then standing here supporting their right to carry a gun.

I can understand support the constitution and the 2nd amendment.. I do too... But to actually sit here and say that you support bad guys being able to legally carry weapons is freaking beyond me.

I mean, if the guy is smoking Meth and hasn't been to sleep in a week.. According to you.. You think it's ok for him to have a gun... Cause it's his constitutional right...

Wow...
