At the same time there's so much activity the last 3 days and potentially in future days that any activity in and of itself would not be concerning. Whereas you take some missions and a huge fire fight would stick out, it would be very possible for a hostage rescue to go on and be somewhat unnoticed depending on the ingress/egress transportation options.

Well, they know Americans hostages are worth billions of dollars now.

The Biden administration cut a deal with Iran in September to transfer $6 billion in previously frozen assets in exchange for five American prisoners.

Guys guys guys, slow the roll. A compound in Syria or Pakistan is not in the same stratosphere of trying to do that type of mission in 20 x 5 mile postage stamp inhabited by 2M people
Well it was about 20 miles outside of Baghdad with a significant population (not close to Gaza, but 100k inhabitants in a fairly small village). And I never said that's what was going to happen. Just pointing out some Special Mission Units that could possibly have the ability to pull off something that risky.

This ain’t an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. It’s a thing called real life. Like Burt said it would require a huge ground force and a helluva diversion. Plus you know that if the Hamas leadership has 1/2 a brain the hostages are spread out. Plus Sigint ain’t gonna develop that picture alone and there is a very slim likelihood that Israel would burn humint assets for this.
And likely not grouped/bunched up by common characteristics. Getting all of one group (all the Americans, for example) likely means multiple locations and each location requires its own planning, resources, etc.
This isn’t hitting a compound, prison, etc. Totally different animal.
Trust me, if it happens it won’t be isolated or surgical. It’ll be big and/or a series of smaller stuff spread over a long period of time.
The enemy has a say in this too, ya know.

With an ability to seal corridors, stage a QRF with secure ingress/egress routes and likely significant Humint/Sigint developed. Totally different beast than Gaza. I mean don’t get me wrong. I would have the biggest boner known to man if they pulled this off. I just don’t see me having a John Holmes sized Johnson anytime soon.

This is what I think is being overlooked by some. They are spread out in many locations. This wouldn't be an in-and-out type operation even if everything went perfectly. It would take a considerable amount of time.

Well this highlights to complete cluster that is ongoing.

Whoopsie…..somebody needs to exchange some liaison officers to deconflict in their COCs.

Nobody on the planet is unaware that when you take American hostages, certain personnel are going to be put into position to respond.

Considering the rules of engagement right now in that area, nope.

It wouldn't shock me at all considering who posted it.
Through the lens of social media there seems to be plenty of people who are justifying and rationalizing these attacks with the idea that this is a result of the actions of Israel the last 75 years and that Israel had it comin'. Plenty.

Hamas isn’t the sharpest knife in the drawer if they thought a cease fire could work after literally slaughtering babies.
