The Israeli Government has reportedly notified Egypt that they are preparing for a Months-Long Ground War in the Gaza Strip.

Insanity as a Law Student ensures you a lucrative position after graduation. They know what they are doing. Some NGO will pay her handsomely.

American Special Operations Forces trained in hostage situations have arrived in Israel.
A Pentagon official says the U.S. doesn't rule out performing operations to liberate kidnapped Americans now held in Gaza

The first rule of covert ops is “You do not announce you are doing a covert op.”
Do they have Sterling Archer running this motherfricker?

NGOs generally don’t pay shite. But they do set you up nicely for a job in the State or Justice department where you can actually affect policy.

Guys, this is just the spooky edition of the student newsletter.
You're all getting bent out of shape over the classic Halloween tradition of endorsing terrorism and executions.
I thought the word spooky was no longer allowed?

Sky News reports “Pentagon official: American special forces arrived in Israel specialized in hostage-free operations. We do not rule out carrying out a special operation to liberate our citizens in Gaza“
While this is an oddly-worded statement, and Hostage Rescue would be extremely difficult in Gaza's dense urban environment & tunnels, DevGru/ST6 has a pretty good recent track record of successful hostage rescue missions in Afghanistan and Somalia. If anyone could pull a Gaza hostage rescue mission off, it would be those guys.

Delta and the Army ISA with some CIA Special Activities Center people.
Along with the Night Stalkers did a raid on an ISIS prison compound a while back and rescued 70 hostages.
ETA: Not saying they were the ones sent, as I would have no way of knowing that, but that's some of the true Tier 1 units that specialize in hostage shite like that. Along with Devgru as we all know.

These are some bad bad boys. Would not want to be the opposition to them.

They're serious about finding hostages. Be interesting to see how this develops.

If they pull off a hostage rescue in Gaza under the current conditions it would have to go down as one of the most dangerous and daring commando raids our guys have ever tried.

I hope they find them. But the chances of pulling this off seem remote.

Burnt,
I have never been to the Middle East, I was supposed to go 3 times in my life, all got cancelled. So I have no clue what it’s really like there.
So asking you and any one with actual combat experience in Middle East that may compare with this upcoming operation a few questions about the upcoming ground excursion, if that’s ok.
It’s my understanding that we have not ask for any restraint or any restrictions upon Israel at all, so the gloves are off.
That said, Limiting civilian casualties as much is possible is obviously in Israel’s best interest but it’s up to them. Hamas and their allies want as many dead children as they can get to blast all over the airways. To complicate matters, I think half the population of the Gaza Strip is children.
Hamas has been planning, digging tunnels, storing weapons and creating a “meat grinder” for over a decade. God only knows what weapons the Russians and Iranians have given them. They obviously baited the IDF into this move and It reeks of a bloody trap to kill as many Jews as possible, make the army look weak to the Arab world and force them into killing tons of innocents and lose the moral upper hand.
The only way this works, in my opinion, (from the comfort of my coach obviously), is to force the entire civilian population to Egypt to refugee camps, eliminate Hamas in the Gaza strip, blow up all the tunnels and their ammo dumps, block by block, and then to create secure fortifications and security checkpoints and towers all over etc. After all that is done, which I assume will take a year or more allow the civilians back into the area.
Is it possible to tell the civilian population to leave and section off the Gaza in areas to do this?
If I am completely wrong with this, what is your assessment?

Nobody on the planet is unaware that when you take American hostages, certain personnel are going to be put into position to respond.

Guys guys guys, slow the roll. A compound in Syria or Pakistan is not in the same stratosphere of trying to do that type of mission in 20 x 5 mile postage stamp inhabited by 2M people. This ain’t an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. It’s a thing called real life. Like Burt said it would require a huge ground force and a helluva diversion. Plus you know that if the Hamas leadership has 1/2 a brain the hostages are spread out. Additionally, Sigint ain’t gonna develop that picture alone and there is a very slim likelihood that Israel would burn humint assets for this.
