As said, it goes back to the beginning, no one ever gets away with anything, and they’ve reaped what they sowed.
Hamas is engages in terrorism, murders and massacres, bombings, the same way the Irgun and Lehi did. We shouldn’t forget the blood they spilled, and especially the British soldiers they murdered.
So you are just trying to justify here in a rather weak disingenuous way. That was 75 years ago and not saying the Jewish militias were right but it was definitely not one sided. But keep carrying water for Hamas bro. Maybe a true pogrom will come about and you’ll be happy.

You forgot "voted the bad guys into power."

It is not clear how effective Israel’s campaign against Hamas has been. One senior U.S. defense official, who spoke on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive details, said the operations so far have not come close to destroying Hamas’s senior and middle leadership ranks. Other U.S. officials said Hamas is not analogous to Al Qaeda or the Islamic State, and has a far deeper bench of experienced midlevel military leaders, making it hard to assess the impact of killing any individual commander.
Did anyone expect it to though? If they’re saying the leadership structure is more difficult to exterminate than AQ or IS then I’m not sure why you’d begin with questioning efficacy. Seems like it’s written to tamper domestic support for aid physical support to Israel.

That kind of came out of nowhere in this thread.

You come up with that over the use of SSGN when it was already clear it was sub? If a former or current military baw wants to acronym flex on you they can talk for 20 minutes and you will only get 10% of it.
It’s just where I decided to mention it. I deal with FAA and military acronyms as part of my occupation. On many occasions, on the phone, I have to stop a soldier that is speaking acronym and have him spell it out. When there is time, I just look them up; same with the FAA and weather threads. Tiger Droppings is more enjoyable if I don’t have to rack my brain and look things up. To add, I still haven’t found a definite definition for IMPOC.

“The principles of liberalism are widely encouraged by Islamic extremist leadership, not because they agree with any of it it, but because they know it’s values are self destructive.
This makes it easy for Islamic extremists to take over while non extremists just keep watching.”
Just read this and thought it was pretty powerful. This is how we get to today where the “far left” is focused on extreme liberal positions like climate change, LGBTQ, trans, etc. but also marching for Palestine. When Hamas sees this, they can use it as propaganda to show their own people they have “support” and also know they can continue to be extremist while Western nations are forced to be “civilized” and play by different rules.
Mentally weak people like to “root for the underdog” because it makes them feel “good” and “right” (and this is what the left pushes over everything else). Who cares if the underdog are genocidal rapist murderers? Not the “Woke”, apparently

IMPOC is Infantry Mortar Platoon Officers Course. It’s the best mortar school in the world. We only had 60mm’s and 81mm’s when I was in the Corps. Loved playing with the 120mm down there and I hear the Marines got some but not sure. Maybe some younger bucks can educate us.

Their ground campaign to destroy Hamas is less than 2 weeks old. This is will go on for many months, if not longer.
It will take a lot of time to dismantle the tunnels and destroy Hamas.

Israeli forces operating in the northern Gaza Strip have located several rocket launchers and some 50 rockets, located in a compound used by a youth movement and a mosque, the military says.
The IDF publishes a video of the commander of the Nahal Brigade’s 50th Battalion, Lt. Col. Tomer Sayag, showing dozens of rocket launchers his forces found inside a building used by the Palestinian Scout Association.
Sayag says the empty rocket launchers were aimed at Ashkelon or central Israeli cities. Outside, some 50 rockets — bearing the logo of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad — were found in an underground storage site.
Separately, the IDF releases a video of the 460th Armored Brigade locating a number of empty underground rocket launchers adjacent to a mosque in northern Gaza. The video shows the launchers’ electrical wiring running inside the mosque, from which they are activated.

Are we deploying a large amount of soldiers to the area?
Just had a customer get a call infront of me and started crying because their husband just got told he's being deployed to Israel.

That'd be major news at this point. We've stationed a lot of resources in the region, but none "officially" in Israel.

I did the AIT advanced mortarman's course in 1996. After a stint at SOTG, I switched from mortars to heavy machine guns and joined a combined anti-armor platoon when I returned to the fleet. I didn't miss mortars (humps suck with a baseplate or bipods).
I'm not aware of the Corps ever using 120s. If they did, it was sometime after 2007.
ETA: Interesting side note: One of our main reasons for working with the IDF back in the day was to help them with indirect fire weapons and to teach them how to use them in urban environments.

Which is exactly what they said before they even entered Gaza.
It was 100% a hit piece with (shocker) an anonymous source meant to sway opinion. It's the NYT ffs.

It seems like they're being very methodical in finding and destroying the tunnel system.

Is anyone paying attention to where the "refugees" are being shipped?
Posted on 11/6/23 at 1:33 pm to salty1
Haven’t seen anyone actually say they will accept them. Their neighbors has all said no. Germany has said no. Pakistan is deporting almost 2 million afghanis so they’re not going to take them.
