We usually have 30 or so Trick or treaters each year so I bought candy. Didn’t have one single trick or treater this year.

Usually my fb is lit up with parents posting pics of their kids dressed up.. only a handful of pics this year.

Is it just going away or perhaps it turned cold as frick tonight?

Did any of y’all get any trick or treaters this year?

Just wondering

Its moving towards the kids going to more controlled environments rather than them going to random pervert's houses.

Growing up in the early 90’s my mom always made the small bag of candy to give out for Halloween. She would make 120 bags and would run out

All the helicopter moms who post on nextdoor heard they're putting razorblades in the candy so they just do trunk or treat in the First Baptist parking lot

I’ve lived in my current house for 9 years this month and we consistently have lines of kids and adults from 530 till we run out.

We shut it down at 8 o’clock but could have still kept going for another hour or 2.

We had so many people I started giving away chocolate milk and caprisuns

Or just not talking to your neighbors. Call it what it is, it's a cultural shift of not being neighborly.

Those little, beady, bloodshot eyes are suspect.

I thought you were a loser drunk?

I’d imagine no one in your HOA takes you seriously

my friend and i were discussing this last night.

he said they had a great neighborhood for it and kids just stopped coming.

it seems like parents just take their kids to the mall or churches now.. as the first reply pointed out.. controlled environments.

Have had over 100 two years in a row. This made the 3rd year where I probably had more than that.

I was just in Algiers Point and there were a ton of kids trick or treating. Not enough houses with candy, though, which was sad.

Nobody ever actually wanted to talk to their neighbors, it's just that everyone was bored out of their fricking minds before the internet. It was just "frick, I don't have shite to do, I guess I have to go talk to somebody". The internet has allowed us to be who we always wanted to be: dicks.

We had many kids here in Mandeville! My fb is full of pics.

My gf took her daughter to Metairie to her mom's neighborhood. The sidewalks were full.

Trunk or Treat has killed a lot of the traditional trick or treating on Halloween night
