Yes, it was. This could be a Duke Ferdinand moment. The kids on the Christian right just had their most overtly positive public figure ripped from them in real time and in gruesome video they can watch again and again and again.

Their moderate voice is gone. Radical ones will take his place.

I mean if those leaked docs about mlk were real. Than he wasnt as great as you think.

The thread is about highest profile, not about the content of their character. I had multiple people today ask me who Charlie Kirk was. There is zero chance that conversation was happening in America regarding MLK.

John Lennon

That’s a tough one. He was vocal about some political causes, primarily peace activism.

However, his notoriety and fame came from being a musician.

Mark David Chapman was obsessed with the Beatles, also a little crazy, but also targeted Lennon because of his comments and lifestyle.

Because Boomers don’t watch the actual news and a lot of people would rather watch sports than pay attention to politics. Charlie was a fricking titan and I think it’s very feasible he could have been President in 20 years. Even over Trump, he was the most MAGA person in America and Trump’s best general in the field.

I’m not intending to denigrate him, or his popularity, in any way. I’m simply pointing out that while Charlie Kirk was famous, MLK was was one of the most famous people in the country at the time. There’s really little comparison as to which is “higher profile”.

Today I learned who he was, so no, no where near MLK.

Still a stupid action. If the shooter hated him and his cause he defeated his purpose by creating a martyr. Ignorance and hate hold no bounds.

What's different about this one is that we have clear video from multiple angles that shows it happening in all of it's horror and gore.

Watching something like this happen and reading about it are two very different things.
