I was a kid once and enjoyed my 1996 straight piped 350 vortec chevrolet.
As an adult I would never though. I like my normal sounding truck. To me it would be embarrassing to have that these days.

That’s a separate argument, which I’m happy to have, but again is separate and apart from the accusation that “libertarian” means everyone gets to be as annoying as they want to
And as a Minarchist, I have no objection to a national military. My Ancap friends would feel differently, obviously.

I read this thread and the jacklegs who are saying you are out of touch are just dummies to the situation.
This is a new issue (two years) prompted by the car manufacturers seeing a market (loud cars) and buyers lapping it up.
The problem is: there are different drivers doing this early in the morning, late at night, during the day such that it is a constant noise to the nearby residents in BR. They are too cheap to go to a track, so they peel out on Siegen, Perkins, Airline, etc and then run from the cops and do it someplace else.
I think the only solution is to vote for council members who come up with creative solutions. What is that? I dunno. Maybe having cops measure sound levels and ticketing noise violations until these dregs go elsewhere or their car is impounded.
And yes, it is a “minor” nuisance in the grand scheme of this crime addled city, but it is a big detriment to quality of life of homeowners just looking for some peace.
Oh, and a gratuitous…

I feel your pain. One of my neighbors kid has a buddy that drives a newer 2500 that’s squatted with 20 or 22” rims and the pipes are huge. You can hear this truck miles away. My house is a corner lot in the neighborhood. I generally can’t hear it to bad inside but if you are outside it’s freakin loud. One night past midnight he was leaving the neighborhood and he burned the tires and woke us up. I’m going to burn that truck down one night.
