Libertines, maybe, but not libertarians. In a fully libertarian paradigm, the roads would be privately owned and managed, which allow for contracting between land owners and road operators, as well as road operators and end users, to set terms of use. Think of a private race track. They have every right to determine the types of vehicles used, acceptable modifications, speed, or even usage to begin with. It would be no different for roads. In fact, it would be easier to restrict annoying behavior in a libertarian paradigm because in the current statist paradigm, the only solution is to criminalize the annoyance.

Would you expect enforcement of compliance to be handled by the same people that are 'handling' it today?

You can hear them from miles away at night. I don't hear them inside of my house but I definitely do when I'm sitting outside.

living in the wrong place

In the middle of South Baton Rouge? (although I don’t take issue with anyone that says it’s not a good place to live these days)

They regularly roar down Highland Road, Burbank, Bluebonnet, Jefferson, Airline. Appears to be a mix of homies and white folks with small penis’s. There is absolutely no reason to have these other than to piss off everyone around you. Surely there aren’t any “ladies” impressed by this display of ignorance.

Not necessarily. I’ve experienced it all over. It isn’t a nuisance only at people’s homes but also out in public pedestrian areas. And rich white kids do it so it isn’t some slum or trailer park thing. Greenville has started cracking down on problem areas, but it’s hard to enforce.

They’re like audible tattoos. (Eta except tattoos aren’t an actual nuisance. Just meant that these morons think it’s some form of personal expression. Attention grabber.)

Freedom does not give people a license to run roughshod on everyone else’s right to live life without nonsense like noise pollution.

You’re a child, and you think as a child does.

Depends on the flavor of libertarian. Being you asked me directly, as a Minarchist, I would expect something similar to current policing to enforce actual criminal laws (let's say if someone pulls out a gun and shoots someone on the road) while the entity that owned/managed the road would handle enforcement of their own internal rules and policies.

It's become a lot more popular in recent years with the hood crowd around here.

That’s not the way this works. I’m pretty sure he wants the decibels to go down not up.

They seem to pull over cars but the Harley's are louder. Got a guy two blocks away and I know when he leaves and comes home every day on that thing.

I mean, I don’t know what you're doing, but I’m saying that we’ve always had people with pipes, but we also had people who put a stop to it eventually. This shite today goes on with such regularity and without any woo woo’s following up that it says society doesn't give a shite anymore about anything that makes communities suck balls for people. It’s not just this shite. Just look at the condition of your cities, roads, and infrastructure. Just look at the crime. Just look at the I don’t give a shite attitude of your elected officials. That’s what I’m driving at.

It kills me that car companies are putting loudspeakers on electric vehicles. A reduction in noise pollution is one of my favorite theoretical benefits to the proliferation of electric vehicles, and speakers are fricking it up

Loud pipes is so far down the list of societal problems that need fixing that it's laughable. I'm not a fan of them either. I love my quiet truck but infringing on people's rights to modify their personal property within the law to satisfy your own personal preference is dumb and comes across as crybabyish.

How do you know the people with loud pipes won't eventually stop? then they will be replaced with new ones, like its been for decades.

I fricking hate loud arse vehicles. Some 18 year old down the street slow rolls in front of my house with his loud "blub blub" and it makes me want to murder him.

Douchebags exist. I can't shame all of them.

Oh. This is just another "everything sucks" thread. Carry on.
