A fair amount of people with English degrees end up going to grad school I would suspect.

One could always join the military. I have a worthless history degree that has served me far better in the military than it ever would have teaching.

I have a BA in English and I was a technical writer for years. I'm now an instructional designer (eLearning, primarily)

I got a master's in Library and Information Science which really only qualifies me to be a librarian.. or an archivist (which interests me).

It’s like a history degree.

You basically can be a lawyer or a time traveler
