You would be a fool not to drive around the neighborhood of a house you are interested in.

wiki generally gives demographics for cities and counties.
From there it's easy to use google maps and look for obvious signs of an undesirable area.

They aren't the issue; Their kids are. Black culture in the US is broken.

Should be good if the closest one is >10 kms away

Most folks on TD think in terms of miles.

Look at election results. Areas that are Democrat generally have high rate of violent crime and/or retards.

Peace and Quiet map

Shows you Section 8, dollar stores, payday loan places, and total Popeyes in the area amongst other things.

I’m trying not to be a bad person, but every time I check out at a store the person in front of me is using the cashier as a calculator to figure out what they have to put back

Look at cars. Are they parked in the street? What cars are they. Hmmm

That map is worthless. My old house (and every house around it) is worth 1.3mil, and almost everyone has a pool. It's in a master planned community of over 7k homes with a very low crime rate, average home value 550k, with A+ schools. Yet it rates the area as "OK."

There is precisely ONE county in Texas east of I-35 rated as "peaceful."

I don’t think a school is a good indicator any more. Look at Glasgow Middle in Southdowns. Not sure of the school demographic, but probably 80% black in a zip code that is 80% white (70808).

Why not just look into the zip code demographics?
