Frankly, I've never quite understood how she became "bigger" than Katy Perry. Perry is better looking, has both arse and tits, better voice, and they both ended up in the same genre.

First, there is only a "Taylor Swift phenomenon" because the media says its so.This causes more and more people to follow her. It's simple sociology, which is the study of how the herd thinks. Government intelligence agencies have a ton of these people working for them and manipulate all of it. They manipulate the entire news and entertainment industry and even internet forums like this one, and have their trolls spreading propaganda and disinformation. To make it worse, they have AI chat bots helping their propaganda and disinformation. American intelligence agencies are as bad as the E. German Stasi, which died out in 1989. Listen to JFK's warning back in the 60's about clandestine operations inside the government.
