I wouldn’t mind for my doctor to prescribe me some testosterone steroids to get a pump like Arnold Scwazeneger or Barry Bonds. I used to think those were bad for your health and people like Arnold and Barry would have had a heart attack a decade or more ago. But they seem to be getting old, no problem.
Do you have to go to a special place like BALCO to get tested? Or can my regular doctor test me for Low T during my yearly physical? After the test, does insurance cover the cost of the testosterone injections?

Not really. Not bad but 500 is definitely not insane.

My age is 63 and my T reading a few months ago was 804.

No shot. I drink tap water all day every day and I’ve done so my whole life. I drink well over a gallon of NOLA tap water per day.

I had a vasectomy at 30 years old.

Buddy you need to get a CT Angiogram done. It will cost you some money because your insurance probably won’t pay, but it is the gold standard for checking your heart and arteries. Budget to do it every five years unless the first one shows you are perfectly clear.

That’d be some shite if PVC cement causes low T and the O-T Lounge gets a Nobel Prize for discovering it.
Mushroom, you would give the acceptance speech.

It’s vitamin D. You don’t need to go outside; you can just take a cheap pill.

Thanks I’ll do that. So far just a calcium score (0) and stress test done.

The low T epidemic is a myth used to market bullshite supplements.
Unless your levels are clinically low, there’s no evidence that testosterone supplementation will even make a difference in symptom relief. And the vast majority of guys who don’t have a pre-existing chromosomal disorder/pituitary tumor won’t have clinically low levels even as they get into old age.

calcium score (0)
That’s great news. But a blockage could still exist in one spot. The calcium score generally is proportional to blockage, but apparently not always. At least I think that’s what my doctor told me.

quote:I'm age 70. I have done exactly this over the last 14 months. Dropped close to 60#. Taking creatine and lots of protein. Lots of water. Carb load for running. Best 5k time so far is 34:19. I have a 10k steps goal for every day as a minimum, but have some weeks where I'm getting an average of over 24k steps. I did over 20 miles recently. Gym work is great. The goo is slowly going away and being replaced with new muscle, and hopefully prevent sarcopenia from taking hold.
If you don't use it, you will lose it. Get back to the gym (take your time) and set a goal of 10k steps per day then journal all of your foods to track your macros
Point is, no matter the age, activity and nutritional changes can make a huge difference. I don't know if my T is low, but I suspect it is. My concern at my age is that it thickens the blood and increases incidence if prostate cancer. My dad had both major heart problems and prostate cancer, so I would be very careful about taking it and only in consultation with my doctor.
