Pho - I always read it as "Foe", but it's pronounced "Fa"

While we’re at it, why in the world wouldn’t the words “rabbit” and “habit” have the same number of Bs?

Is there a word in the English language more widely mispronounced than flaccid?

Homos who don’t say the h sound are annoying. Like they think it makes them sound dignified

Forte, as in someone’s specialty.
It’s pronounced Fort, not For-tay

I have an irrational hatred of IPA. Next to nobody gets anything out of IPA, and plenty of us yearn for guidance on pronunciation.
Is "FLAH-SID" not what we really need in our dictionaries? Must every goddamned thing devolve into a neckbeardy circle jerk set around a latter-day Tower of Babel?

English stole the word from French, and we probably mixed it up with Italian. Why would we pronounce it just like fort when that's already a word?
