Just watched a piece on those two bicyclists killed there last year. The country itself looked quite pretty.

Incredible hunting for sheep and goats. Basically, that area is the pinnacle of mountain hunting.

Heard a story about a Delta farmer in Uzbek. His father sold them seed years ago. They recently came looking for him, but the father had passed. The son is now getting their farming industry up and running.

There is another poster on this board who can confirm this story if he sees this.

In high school we had a friend who lived nearby, like 3 houses away. His parents had a foreign exchange student from Almaty, Kazakhstan come live with them for a year. Turns out this dude was the son of the mayor and involved with the mob. He was sent to America because of how much trouble he was getting in to over there. We called him "AK" because he looked like a terrorist but out of pure coincidence that was his initials. He would chain smoke 2 or 3 packs of cigarettes a day and stole the neighbors wifi to give us all porn. He talked like Borat. If I could find my old myspace there is picture of us drinking Smirnoff with him and he looks like an alien or some shite. He was obviously foreign. The dude was batshit crazy. He saw a fight break out at the mall and was running over trying to hit random people because he got caught up in the moment.

This thread reminded me of Herman Cain's quote during his presidential run.
quote:

When they ask me who's the president of Ubeki-beki-beki-beki-stan-stan, I'm going to say, 'You know, I don't know. Do you know?'

But grouping everyone from the continent of Asia under one racial term is pretty stupid. I understand oriental was used derogatorily but at least it was more specific.
