Give me the cold any day of the week. Bonus if you could also give me summertime daylight with it

You ever felt your nostrils freeze together?

Lived in south Louisiana and Minnesota. The cold itself isn’t that bad, but having to put layers of clothes on to do anything gets really aggravating.

As much as I love hunting and will tolerate it for that reason alone, I fricking HATE the cold

Lived in the frozen tundra of the Midwest for 16 years. Winters are indeed miserable, and a lot more dangerous with the icy roads. When it gets down to -45 wind chill, there's really nothing you can do to stay warm except stay inside.

We will have a lot more to worry about if it's snowing all summer in Ohio with being in an ice age and all

Spent a few years living north of Denver in my mid 20s. Great experience overall but at some point during the 3rd winter I said frick this, I’m too southern to be dealing with this. Don’t ever see myself living north of Tennessee/North Carolina again. The random snow dumps over 6+ inches over night, the weeks on end under freezing, there always being snow on the ground because it is never warm enough to melt…..nah I’m good. I’ve seen enough snow to last me the rest of my life. Would gladly vacation into a snowy climate but don’t ever want to live in one again.

If you live in Louisiana then yes. And if you live in Louisiana the heat is also worse than the cold.

You don't acclimate to cold, you die.

If you didn't work inside all day you wouldn't be nearly as bothered by the heat. I much prefer summertime.

95% of lifelong southerners who've never had to actually live, let alone work *in* the cold and deal with the extra steps of dealing with it would be ready to head south by new years day. It fricking sucks balls. You think you'd like it, but odd are you would grow weary of that shite with the quickness.

Those of you who do live where it truly gets cold, what do you say? Is a cold and snowy climate truly worse than the hot climate?

I dont think so.

To be fair, it doesnt really get below -15 or so here. So not regularly dealing with dangerous cold.

25-30 in the sun feels food honestly. Some mornings I cuss it when its under 5 but most of the day its pleasant.

The snow can be a bit more annoying. Gotta clean it off the car. Makes driving more difficult.

But overall, much prefer my cold climate to that back home in LA.

Its be weird not to have snow at Easter around here.

Last year we had snow in mid-October and 18" on Halloween. Last snow of the season was the Friday before memorial day.

Power goes off….

In the heat, it sucks, but take a cold shower.

In the cold, you die.

I don't like the extremes of either one. If you could get rid of the snow id say the cold is preferable

I find cold air physically painful. I can deal with the heat.

Extreme heat is objectively worse than extreme cold. You can build a fire or put on more clothes. Not much you can do on the heat but find shade and pray.

Plus snowsports > watersports 11 times outta 10.

Sounds like OP has never spent any time in Wisconsin. Try a couple years up there, you will run back to the armpit.

Easier to grow food in the heat, near impossible when everything is encased in ice for many months.

Let me cover you in ice and you'll die. 100 degree heat with humidity for you fat fricks should do something good.

This. I lost a bunch of weight and now I am cold all of the time. I literally have a portable heater on in my office as I type this.

Yes. The cold is worse. This man has never been to North Dakota in - 60.

PS. I haven't either because Louisiana can't get hot enough for me to say frick that heat. I say frick the cold.
