Idfk it rubs me the wrong way on such a visceral level

It is a cultural vacuum devoid of anything noteworthy

If people in Metairie want culture, they can drive 5-10 minutes to New Orleans. The good part is they can drive right back in a few minutes and not have to deal with the N.O. streets, N.O. city services, mayor, etc. And I live in New Orleans.

Fact: Metairie isn't a city. Kennah's a city, brah, but not Metairie.

Metairie is very old compared to what kind of suburbs you’re thinking of that exist in Texas.

How is old Metairie any different? Same type of houses, just gridded differently

All the retail & restaurants on Metairie road are in strip malls lol

Funny post, but Metairie probably has 50 awesome independent restaurants.

Define suburb.

If Baker counts as a suburb, it alone is far worse than Metairie.

It is probably similar to hundreds of other decent suburbs across the country.

The attraction has always been the demographics, anything else is a bonus.

You say this like its a bad thing.

I would never move anywhere because of some generic "culture"

Its extremely overrated.

Metairie and pleasing do not belong in the same sentence.
