Does New Orleans East count as a suburb?

No. New Orleans East is still New Orleans

Pearl, MS says hello! Actually I wouldn't consider Pearl a suburb, it's more like a decayed 1970s blue collar town next to the old Jackson brothel and liquor district. But a stroll down HWY 80 and you can't help but think of some Molly Hatchet song that made an impression around there back then.

To its credit, I've known some great folks from there.

Yes. Lafayette is a suburb with a decrepit mall. That is all it is.

For the love of god please stop. A certain poster that I won't name will be in here soon to argue about this for the next 6 hours knowing he's wrong just like you are.

That was sort of the idea. To stimulate the robust and always courteous intellectual debate the Board is famous for across the globe.

I’d be curious if anyone could post a link to TulaneLSU’s learned opinion on the question of what is, and what is not Old Metairie and what precisely defines the ancient and hallowed borders of that once great community that has since the late 1950s, early 1960s fallen on hard times becoming little more than a mutant chimera, a feeble unholy melding of the once great suburb of New Orleans and the newer one spewed and overflowing from Kenner. Unlike dogs, this hybrid mutt does not seem healthier than its parents nor does it seem carry any of their strengths. Sic transit Gloria mundi.

Probably the only man alive to qualify to judge the matter besides TulaneLSU is Maunsel White, an Old Metairie native and it’s devoted historian.
