I have multiple and vivid nightmares or dreams (usually nightmares) every night. I've had them since my earliest memories. My nightmares are no longer nightmares. What I mean by that is I'm not scared to go to sleep. I view my nightmares like very vivid fantasy adventures where sometimes bad things happen, but I always wake up and immediately realize it was all a dream.

I do sometimes wonders what would happen if I died in my sleep during a vivid nightmare. Would my nightmare become my eternity? Hmmm?

I have dreams where Satan (yes, the horned demon himself) is chasing me thru an abandoned city at night. Flickering street lamps. Trash blowing throughout the abandoned streets. Empty and dark warehouses. The only sound of life if Satan's howl in the wind. Creepy stuff.

I have dreams where I'm on top of a very tall skyscraper at night and I start to get vertigo. It feels like the building is tipping over so I fall down and lay flat so not to fall off. I know the building isn't actually falling over but my senses tell me I'm sliding to the edge. What's happening is my vertigo has taken control of my body and I'm rolling myself toward the edge. I try to stop rolling, I grab sometime so not to fall over the edge, and then suddenly I realize the building has actually leaned over and I'm now hanging by my grip. I know I can't hold my weight too long. I scream for help but no sound comes out of my mouth. My grip is loosening...loosening...and then suddenly I fall.

The Earth is is fastly approaching. I know I'm going to die. I close my eyes and say a prayer. Suddenly I hit the Earth, but instead of dying I bounce! I bounce very high. I open my eyes and realize I didn't die. Now I'm falling again, the Earth is quickly approaching. When I hit the Earth I bounce again. I start to jump across vast distances over the Earth soaring as high as the clouds or near orbit. I'm essentially a superhero! This goes on for some time until I wake up or transition into another dream.

I can go on and on and on.

My dreams of Hell are awful. I can truly feel the evil of that place within the nightmare. I'll write about it one day...

Perhaps I'm lucid dreaming when occasionally I realize I'm in the dream world and then take control of my dream. However, I've never prepared for lucid dreaming nor purposefully tried to lucid dream. I occasionally do it by accident.

Anyone here lucid dream?

That's a warning because you don't think God can speak English.

When I dream, I can control the parameters of the dream. I don't do it purposefully, like say "okay, I'm going to sleep, and I'm going to dream about Candy Land."

I get what I get in a dream. But if I don't like the dream, or something in it, I can just think, "This dream is bullshite. Give me another one." And I get another one. And if I don't like someone being in my dream, or they are out of context, I have told them in dreams "You don't belong here. You need to go away." And they do.

That's a form of lucid dreaming.

I had a lucid dream a few months back.

It was weird. I got off the elevator in a brand new office building that was completely empty and I could touch the walls and smell the brand new carpet and paint.

I realized I was in a dream and I was like, THIS IS AWESOME I'M DREAMING...and then it's like I was pulled awake.

Would love to experience it again

I've never had a wet dream. I'm actually pretty bummed about it.

it takes some dedication but you can train yourself to do it.

Ive done it several times. Ive realized I was dreaming and told myself "this is a dream, time to ball out" and just done whatever I want. I dont necessarily control the parameters of the dream but I have full control of my actions.

Talk about pissed when I wake up.

Just imagine being able to do whatever you want with zero consequences

If I actively think about it before I fall asleep, like "this is what im going to try to do", I can do it about 20% of the time if I actually start dreaming. Its just matching up the nights when I think about it, with nights that I actually have a dream.

Yes...The more intelligent you are the more you dream. I had one last night....had a deep cut in my arm and bees got in it...I was worried about going into shock and getting an infection.

well there are some routines you can become accustom doing that will get you to lucid dream almost every night.

Exploring the World of Lucid Dreaming: Stephen LaBerge
Still the best read on the subject.

Has ways to help you do it and stay in and notice in dreams that you are on the verge of lucidness.

Do it: Sleep at a different time than normal. Also, wake yourself up near the end of your normal sleep cycle and then go back to sleep.

Notice: You can make yourself lucid dream. Constantly ask yourself while awake as you look at things, "Am I dreaming?" Then, while asleep you will begin to ask yourself and realize at some point more.

In sleep, if you look at a clock and look away and look back most of the time the time will be different.

Stay in a dream: If you realize you are lucid dreaming, at first, you get excited because of everything you can do (fly ect.) so you awake easily. You can ground yourself within the dream by slowing turning around in a circle. (It works, I've done it)

Leave a dream: Got something you think you want to remember, or just want out? Close your eyes in a dream and then open them back up.

Notes: One thing I also remember from the book is how a lot of people have fears or nightmares that don't go away. Actually confront them, but in a sort of caring way and these things turn "into puffy clouds" or other non alarming things. And, then you're done with it. Usually doesn't come back. I've never really had a problem with this, but people say it works.
Also, when you see something that puts you on edge in a dream, you should investigate it, look into it, such as a hole or something because there is actually insight there to be learned.
Remember, dreams can be a learning experience. Dreams are beyond time and space. You are also replaying a lot of things in different ways in dreams because your mind is trying to work something out.
Great book. So much more in there and for the most part I've found it true.
Those who lucid dream see merit, those that don't say bunk. That's okay because when you find others who do lucid dream, they usually become very good friends because you seem to think more alike and have great stories to share.

I had them when I was younger. From around 16 years old until my early 30's. They were fun. I haven't had one in a long time.
