I've been living in my house for 14 years and still get mail for the prior owners.. I get mail about twice week and there is always something for them. I did get the guys tax registration for his car and did nothing about it because I have no idea where they moved.. They were kind of dicks about repairs they did to the house before I made the deal.. So eff them..

If it’s to my address, I open it. If it’s important enough I’ll look the person up on facebook and tell them they received something important but that has only happened once

I'm the only owner that's ever lived in my house and I still get occasionally weird junk mail addressed to someone else - always makes me wonder if someone is using my address for fraud.

I receive junk mail for Nick E. Parrish. Never have I used Nick E. Parrish for anything.

I get several of them a year addressed to people who I have no idea who they are. I've been in this house since 1992 and the previous owner lived here from the time the house was built in the 1930's, so only 2 owners of this house.

I just pitch them in the garbage can since the mail I'm getting is mainly junk mail to begin with.

I do occasionally get some mail for the same numbered address, but one street over and I will take it to that house and drop it in their mailbox or clip it to my box for the mailman to deliver it to the right address.

If I get neighbor's mail I'll take it them - the thing that baffles me is the mail I get sent to my actual address to someone that's never lived here.

I believe that is not only illegal, but a federal crime because it involves the mail. But like someone else said, how would they know?

What if they're deceased? We've lived in our home close to 10 years and still get (junk) mail for the previous owners that have been dead that long.

The post office logs every piece of mail they deliver to your home.

The previous owner of our new house has gotten easily 10-15 packages delivered. The first couple of weeks, we texted her and she had family come pick them up.

When it continued happening 1-2 months in, we gave up. I finally opened 3 of them the other day, and they were all the exact same thing. I guess she ordered it and when she didn't receive, got them to send another which came to us, and then when that didn't arrive did it again. Three boxes of replacement liquid for Dawn dish spray.

Sure why not... My guess it's probably junk mail delivered to the previous owners. My old house I got mail for the previous owners all the time. 100% of it was junk. I even got junk mail for the previous, previous owners

I "mysteriously" keep getting Hustler magazines sent to my address in someone else's name, much to my wife's chagrin.

I got Christmas presents for the previous owners of my house--I have a big mailbox with a lock and key. I didn't open it, but I did wait about 9 months before I bothered to catch the mailman and get the presents and some other things sent to them. They had soccer gear and a few Christmas cards sent to me.

In NOLA, I responded in my cat's name, to a question about taxing beer during a Saints game. Cobweb, the cat became Cee Web.
Several weeks later, letters arrived from a US Senator and US Representative, thanking Cee Web for contacting them about a vaguely related to beer topic.

To this day, I wonder if Cee Web is voting in Louisiana.

You're supposed to put "DNL RTS" on there and cross out your address. Carrier code for DOES NOT LIVE HERE - RETURN TO SENDER.

The rightful recipient of the check told me to open the envelope and tell them how much the check was for so they could figure out which of their invoices it applied to. It was well into 5 digits. This has been going on for close to 4 months now.

I am in the wrong business.

What field were they in to get that kind of scratch?
