Good news is that with the Progressives erasing history no one will know who he is. Leave the portrait but when people ask just say "oh thats my great great grandfather General Obama who fought for the Union against the white oppressors". Instant SJW points.
If you were trying to make a statement by hanging it, keep it up. But it sounds like you are not that vested in signaling your right to hang it. So it is probably not worth the attention and perhaps hostility when others see it in your house. I would take it down, and stow it or give it away.
