Is it fair to judge a dog's intelligence on its using sense to get itself out of the rain?

How many times do we say "dumb dog" when we look at our own dogs just sitting out in the yard while it's pouring down rain when Fido can go under a covered porch?

If I didnt care about having yo take a shower, wash mud off my shoes and clothes, or clean up the couch, bed , and floors from coming inside wet and muddy...

I'd probably play in the rain more often.

My dog hates the rain.
Take her out she literally does her business in 2 mins and rushes back in

Our dog will walk to the door really excited to go out, will stop and look out of the storm door at the rain, will turn around and head back to his “nap spot”.

My parents’ dog doesn’t like being in the rain. Big pain in the arse when he needs to go out for biological reasons and refuses to. He also doesn’t like baths.

Is it fair to judge your intelligence by this most awkwardly worded attempt at a sentence?

Both of mine love the rain, poon and pool. They know that they will get the full treatment with a towel.

When I was 16, I heard my dog howling during a super intense thunderstorm. That stupid son of a bitch had his head stuck in a chain link fence. My mom said "You're not going out there.". My dumb arse knew better, and I went to get him loose.

It was a deluge, with thunder and lighntning were crashing. While I was working his head loose, lightning struck within 25 feet of us, and the thunder sounded like a bomb went off. I found myself on the ground, and it scared the dog so bad that he pulled his own head loose, and bolted.

I was fine, but I cussed that dog as I ran for the house.

I have an English Setter, so she loves the rain and making a mess in general. There are some days I think she is probably smarter than my 4 yr old.

My friends old arse beagle was like that too. I’d watch him when my buddy would go out of town, and if you made him go outside to take care of business, and the grass was even a little bit wet, he’d take these really dramatic slow steps and eyeball your arse the whole time. Then he’d hurry back inside, and give you the cold shoulder for about fifteen minutes till he realized he wanted some pets. RIP

How are they with little ones?

We're thinking about getting Dobermans next time around, but we have shite tons of grandkids.
