How are they with little ones?

Depending on the breeder, phenomenal. Dobies get a bad rep from movies. They are awesome with kids. y mother in law was breeding them and my daughter who is 5 would play with them every day. If they are not socialized properly, they will tend to nip at kids, because they don't know better. All of our bodies, we now have 5 b/t my MIL, my aunt and us, are awesome with kids. I cannot say enough god things about the dogs.

Also, it never hurts that everyone else in the world is scared to death of them. When people come to the house and see those ears behind the fence and hear that bark, they back up quick.

Usually these dogs are very smart and tugging on the heartstrings of our wives to try and get in the house.

I judge dogs based on their owner.

Can you recommend any breeders in Louisiana or Mississippi?

(We had a well bred GSD who was THE BEST DOG EVER - except all that freakin' fur )

We just got finished having 12 puppies that took forever to sell. I think my MIL may be willing to sell the 1 her sister wants. Its a big fawn male. He is sweet as can be and much more "tame" than the little fawn female I took

If you are interested, I can get you in touch with her. I don't know anything about other breeders.

I appreciate the offer, but we're several years away. I do very little impulsively.

We're thinking about getting Dobermans next time around, but we have shite tons of grandkids.

Same here. Multiple grandkids. Youngest son has two Doberman. Male and female. They dote on all the little ones. Shamelessly. You don't know whether to laugh or throw up.

You're probably safe with dogs from reputable breeders.

My goldendoodle hates the rain.

He also understands the English language better than most people I think.

One of these days I swear he's just going to respond in English to me.

Long post while pooping at work coming up...

Smart shite my dog does:

- When we ask if he wants to walk, he thinks about it and makes the decision based on how hot it is. If it isn’t too hot outside, he’ll go grab his leash and bring it to us, then we hook him on it, and he carries the handle in his mouth most of the walk. So he walks himself. He has a ton of fur, so he hates the heat.
- Knows if we’re sick or sad. Most dogs can do this, but it is still awesome. Really tries to cuddle when either is the case.
- Let’s our 1-year old poke and prod him and climb all over him without doing anything. Other people’s kids, notsomuch. He’ll go hide in a bedroom if they start messing with him.
- Herds our 1 year old into a corner if “strangers” are at the house and stands between them.
- Knows “go to bed”, “go get mama/dada”, “you hungry?”, “go to your side (move to foot of the bed)”, "We'll be back soon (he gets sad and mopes)", and the standard bathroom/outside ones, etc.
- Checks in on our 1 year old by lightly nudging his door open, going in there and looking at him, then quietly exiting the room. All we have to say is “go check on baby”. There is no purpose for this, but it’s a fun party trick. Picked it up from us saying “go check on the baby” to each other
- He looks at us like we're assholes if we try to play fetch with him. If its something he actually wants to chew on and we throw it, he'll go get it and lay down to chew on it.
- And many other I’m forgetting…

TL;DR

My dog is Nana from Peter Pan and they even look the same.
