Is it ever acceptable to park in a clearly marked handicap spot?

Of course I know the answer.

Why is it that some people think the law doesn’t apply to them? Why do some people show complete disrespect to others that actually have a valid medical reason for having a handicap parking tag?

Downtown BTR - 3 Pictures

The driver should be ashamed of herself and her two co-passengers are just as guilty for not speaking up and explaining to her why she should not do that.

Of course. If you have a tag and you’re not a fat, overweight slob that just wants to park next to the door.

yeh if you had surgery and don't have a tag. It's amazing how many people with handicap tags aren't really handicapped

I know a couple of people personally (although I will not refer to them as friends) who proudly pass around a handicapped hanging tag "so they can park close". They act like they have outsmarted the whole world by doing this. On one occasion, at an event with family members present and after a couple of drinks, I went out of my way to embarrass them about it in front of other people. They just thought I was joking.

There is a lot of truth to the line, "you can't fix stupid."

Sometimes at gas stations all the normal parking spots are taken and I'm faced with a trashy dilemma. Do I park at a gas pump and not get gas or do I park in the open handicapped spot?

You wait your turn like a good, God-fearing American.

I work like 80 hours a week and when I get off from a turnaround they make me park at the back of the parking lot so someone who doesn’t work and doesn’t have anything wrong with them can park at the front?

They even have them at places like gyms and shoe stores

The people in the comment section of Imgur think they they have a handicap tag.

...it's an LSU student parking tag.

It's acceptable if you have your emergency lights flashing and the car is running.

I do it all the time. People know I'm in a hurry that way.

Probably not a student anymore. I think that's an old parking tag.

That spot is such a tease when you have to wait 20 minutes to park at Matherne’s Downtown.
