It’s not a scam but it isn’t comprised of the most important people in the world as the internet would have you believe.

By the way, sans one, every post came from a different Protestant author.

I also took great care to try to cover the gamut. Methodist, Lutheran, English Protestant, etcetera.

^^This seems highly likely.

There’s a lot of misinformation, especially from the longer copy/paste posts, being passed off as fact in this thread.

I guess it’s maybe the selective nature of masonry (some people just aren’t going to fit), but it elicits an unwarranted amount of detest for an organization that harms no one and is unpolitical. It certainly brings the crazies out of the woodwork who all claim to have superior knowledge of the craft over actual members.

This is exactly why they have to meet in secret or if they attend the KofC bingo hall they go unpatched.

So something is a Giant Scam because you had a shite experience?

Sounds to me like you were one of the typical guys--paid dudes but never did anything more. Sounds like one of those Councils that didn't do much either. I know of several KofC Councils in the area that actually do quite a bit.

Don't try and paint the entire organization as a scam simply because you didn't put any effort into it.

Really? No real surprise to me. It's the OT, 90% of the posters here are just a few chromosomes away from dragging their knuckles and throw shite on each other.

Granddad was a 33rd degree mason.

When he passed, I was given his ring. He wore it all the time. I was asked if I’d wear it and no way. That is a huge honor that was EARNED. I am super honored to simply keep it safe.

Cut and paste plus the commentary indicates gross ignorance of Masonry as it exists today.

Believing that one knows anything of importance about this subject indicates a level of gullibility that may exist into other subjects as well.

Stating that one's self is not "ignorant nor gullible" indicates he is a conceited egotistical pompous arse.

I’d say if you belong to an organization that forbids its customs, traditions & rules be written down or shared with non-members...you have to put up with conjecture.

You don’t want wild stories made up about you? Don’t hide anything.

I had a friend who wanted to join up once, after moving his family to the country.

Then he met some of the younger members and decided "no thanks" to all that. They didn't appear to be the pillars of the community they once were.
