Every person I talk to who claim to be a “mason” all say the same bullshite line. “If you want to know what a mason is, you need to be one”. I’m pretty sure it’s a scam to make low level retards feel important. Hurr durr I’m a master mason but I can’t tell you anything else cause I don’t know anything

rule of thumb, anyone who feels the need to dress up in costumes to feel important are usually full of shite

No. The line is “if you want to be one, ask one.” That comes from the fact that someone has to ask to become a mason, and that the lodge cannot invite you to join. (This is predominantly an American thing.)

But if you want to know what we do ... it’s largely a social organization, with some very strong philanthropic associations, that have regular meetings like any other club, fraternity, or group. We use ritual to emphasize our ideals and to educate the new membership in our history. Our meetings are “secret” only in that you have to be a member to attend. We take minutes, roll, we vote on business, and the like ... all of which is very similar to any meeting conducted using Robert’s Rules of Order.

Do we dress funny on occasion? Well, the aprons represent our historic ties to the stone masons from times past. The collars only signify what office the individual holds.

There is an altar and an open bible used in all of our meetings; though we are not religious. It merely represents that there is a higher power, something larger than the individual, of which we should always try to keep in mind during our actions.

There’s no human sacrifice, I have yet to see a virgin on the altar , and we’re not out to get anyone. We’re not a cult, and anyone is welcome to rescind their membership at anytime. I have sat in lodge with members of just about every major religion you can imagine, as we in no way discriminate based on such.

What else would you like to know?

You can't even correctly repeat what they've told you whilst you're trying to mock them.

You're not worthy to wear the fez and drive the little cars in the parade.

Challenge one to a brick stacking contest and watch em go. More and more of em are coming from south of the boarder, but the quality seems to be just as good. It's only a scam if they sub contract.

I got the right one right? Or is it the other one?

Seriously, what do you all do besides have meetings? Is it to help the needy? Raise awareness of diseases? Fantasy football?
