Is Corpus Christi the biggest city that nobody thinks of as a big city?

I've never been there, but always thought it was like the size of Monroe or something. I really had no idea it had 400,000 people and had a skyline that looked like this:

Am I the only person who was completely out of the loop on this place?

It is a shithole

Just not a little shithole, a big shithole

A little slice of Juarez on the Texas coast

Well, it's in Texas, so I always assumed it looked like this:

I didn't realize it was that big either... but I knew it was decent sized.

Corpus proper has about the same amount of people as NOLA proper, but the metro area is a good bit smaller.

Huh.. well who would have thought.

Here I was thinking Corpus Christi was some sort of joke about Chris Christie's rotundness.

I love me some Corpus.

Played a few rugby tournaments there in my day.

It's like a much bigger Lafayette, minus the really good food.
The sluts and the partying are on par however.

I've driven through it. I'm sure it's like any place else with nice areas but around the highway it is a profoundly shitty place.

Corpus is 58th on the list based strictly on the city size... LINK

Behind plenty of other places that I don't really think about like Fresno, CA; Mesa, AZ; Aurora, CO; Santa Ana, CA.

It's 115th in terms of metro area.

all the "highways" is 37 that deadends into the coast.

i've been there a dozen times and can't think of any other major highway. i'm sure there is.

it's not my favorite good sized town in texas.

All of those, except for Fresno I guess, are just big suburbs of bigger cities, though.
