Well at least 1 of those 400,000 people know how to oversaturate the colors within a night photograph to make it look nice.

i've stayed in 4 different hotels in a week to build up points down there.
It's not necessary to switch. You'll build more points up at an Embassy / Doubletree than vs. Homewood Suites or Hampton Inn.
Just book separate reservations and then ask the front desk to keep you in same room for your stay. You'll get different invoices, but it eliminates the need to switch hotels.

i have a loose quota per night on travel and most often DoubleTree/Embassy goes over the cap. every now and then i can swing a Doubletree/Homewood/Hilton Garden Inn. and i've asked for what you said, and they said no because of point skimming in particular.
at this point i need 5 more nights to get diamond. then you're building more points as it is.

married.
i'm a decent looking dude and don't hit the bars, but the only place i've ever been flat out asked if i was DTF without looking for it was the valley.
ETA: i am not EVER looking for it, but if you're sitting at a bar alone, i'd expect that sort of thing. i don't do that. upon rereading, my original statement looked bad.

It's the hometown of Farrah Fawcett and where Selena (of the 90s) was shot.
Assumed this was a decently known city.
