Don't think so, depending on the circumstance - making sure child has food, means of transportation if necessary such as uber, should also have close friend or relative check in every few days if gone for a week or more probably.

I agree. A lot of 15 yr olds are in the 10th grade. My buddy's parents used to leave us for the weekend alone at their house sometimes around that age.
It might not be a great idea in some cases but I'd hardly consider it neglect.
Right, all kids are different but I was pretty self sufficient when I was 15. As long as there is food for her to eat, or another way to acquire food (money, waitr, Uber eats, etc…), then it’s definitely not neglect.

was running heavy equipment for my dad(and had been before 15,)taking the boat out by myself, sort of running some smaller construction jobs, but out on the weekends drinking , acting a fool and letting the little head do the thinking was a different story

I guess you have to be a little older now but I had a license and a vehicle at 15.

we evacuated for a hurricane while living in so. FL, this one would be the third in a row that the eye passed over the house that season and it was pretty lame for a hurricane, we went to NYC to stay with some friends and our 15 year old daughter wanted to ride it out so we let her, her grandmother was there but our daughter was there to babysit her, it was a safe bet and she had wheels and our friends checking on her, she had a good time

At 15 I had a car and summer/weekend job. My folks traveled for weeks at a time for work. I had money for food and gas. A few generations ago it wasn’t uncommon for 15 year olds to marry.

This sounds like there’s a custody battle going on.

How many days? If the parents are on a weekend trip for like sat-sunday and the fridge is full, no.

Easy and correct answer. Yes.

Are you considering getting the government involved to ruin all of their lives?
