I agree. A lot of 15 yr olds are in the 10th grade. My buddy's parents used to leave us for the weekend alone at their house sometimes around that age.

It might not be a great idea in some cases but I'd hardly consider it neglect.

Absolutely not

That’s a high school kid

As long as the kid isn’t starving or anything

That’s not cool

I’d leave a 15 year old boy home alone before I’d leave a girl

Does the child have food available?
Someone she can call in case of an emergency?

Is it because the parent is working & there is no other options?

likely not, but they are all different. My 14 year old son would be fine taking care of himself for long stretches, on the other hand, my sister was still ordering for her son at restaurants when he 17.

Let's not forget that women were regularly marrying at age at 14 up through the early 1900s.

First, it depends on the kid.

I think most people here would have been fine for several days at a time alone at 15.

Stop giving us one sentence ramblings and tell us what’s really going on.

If there is food in the house there is no way a teenager wouldn't be able to get by just fine.

Unless you spawned/raised a moron.

Egh. My daughter was 15 as a jr. in high school. So not so much. But I also wouldn’t leave her home alone for days.
Now, when I was growing up, at 15, my older siblings were already out the house, my mom wasn’t around and my dad had to work out of town, state, and country at times, so I had no choice but to be alone.
So I guess it depends on the situation.

My brother and I were left for days as teens while our parents travelled. We lived in the country with neighbors nearby who could help in an emergency. Never had any problems.

Call your lawyer and ask if this is worth taking your ex back to court over or not.

No. The entire concept of a teenager is a 20th century invention.

By age 12 a human being of sound mind and able body can fend for themselves given access to adequate resources.

In a year or less that girl will be allowed to operate a half ton piece of machinery at over 70 mph, I hope she can be left alone for a few days and not have it be considered negligence

Neglect depends on what the parent is doing, not the kids age
