It’s not about tourism. It’s about an influx of people you don’t like.
If all of a sudden soccer got a foothold like football has and decided to come to Baton Rouge to use tiger stadium as a pitch, id imagine that some people who didn’t follow soccer and were trying to go about their daily lives would be kinda pissed.

As someone who lives in a tourist area, its rare that tourists are ever the people you'd invite to your house yet without them the area would die economically.
If they're causing problems I get it, otherwise just be glad they're spending money.

Sure, but it's so feigned and inauthentic
Yes, I'm sure American tourists can be annoying. I'm sure there are even some with explainable-if-not-reasonable hatred for American tourists above all else.
But the average young Irish, French, etc. person ranting about American tourists who are occasionally too loud or in town for a football game or whatever, but wouldn't dare say anything about the busloads of Chinese tourists that disregard your social customs, demand gift shops stocked with garbage trinkets or the hordes of Muslims generating unprecedented levels of sexual assault...it's just silly moral preening.

What about all the Muslims that are invading her country? Guess that’s cool but American tourists are bad bad!

But this girl just thinks it’s cool to complain about Americans because she has no clue about life and wants to be talked about. Which she’s getting.

I agree with you.
This girl does not. And I see her perspective.
That’s all.

She probably doesn’t even live in Dublin. Probably Belfast.

Was that the team Dameyune Craig was on? I remember he threw for some ridiculous number of yards (600+) in a game once over there.
No, he played for the Scottish Claymores. He set an "American football" record with 611 yards in a game against the Frankfurt team in '99. His jersey from that game is in Canton, but I cant find anything other than his Wiki page mentioning it as a record officially. Everything just has Norm Van Brocklin's 554 yards since it is NFL.

Got shite to say about people who have enabled them to keep their existence many times over whilst saying jack shite about the Muslim hoards that have taken over and rape their women and children.

Thanks, those NFL-E games were fun.

According to their 2022 census, there are 83,300 Muslims living in the Republic of Ireland.
That percentage is 1.5% of Ireland.
You guys really love to be so loud about tiny things.

If you live near a place that regularly hosts major sporting and other events, then have some self awareness and don't bitch when those events happen. When I lived in Chicago I remember neighborhood residents bitching about the crowds from Wrigley games and events, and I'm going...you didn't see the 42,000 seat stadium when you were buying your place, and/or expect there to be events at the place that holds that many people?

Dammit, this thread ate my first attempt at a reply to various things.
That's a super typical Friday level of foot traffic. Unless I miss my mark, that's either in Temple Bar or off of Dame Street, right around the heart of the south side of the city on Grafton Street. Those areas are essentially exclusively pedestrian/tram accessible, and this level of foot traffic is extremely typical--- the gathering of ISU colors indicates it isn't locals of course, but that's a normal Friday afternoon. Locals steer clear of large events/protests/crowds that are scheduled just like we dodge traffic here.
Most of the European HQs of major American tech companies, as a starting point. Most absolutely despise continental tax rates, so if you want to find European HQ for Google, Facebook, Twitter, etc-- you go down to the Silicon Docks, just on the north side of Dublin across the river from the Temple Bar and Grafton Street area, and east towards the Grand Canal.
Dublin is far from the worst city in the country; it also houses a third of all the people in the country in the metro area. It isn't Limerick (AKA Stab City because...well, it is in the nickname}; Galway would never be properly equipped, even for Farmageddon -- 34K and terribly inaccessible by American standards. Cork isn't exactly easy to get to either, especially with aversions to mass transit in play.
While this lady is shrill, it really isn't much different than bitching about game day traffic making it more difficult for you to get around town on any game day or concert event day in your locality.

I wonder the same thing
who cares about a random tweet from some random irish girl attention whoring on social media?
this is like starting a thread based on some random caller to a local talk radio show. I guess because you can link the tweet it makes it sharable so we can all see it and get mad or defend her or talk about how attractive she is
