USN captain should be relieved from duty. Allowing the ship of another nation to come within 10 yards is dereliction of duty. Wouldn't take a few seconds for persians to turn into a suicide attack. 50 yards or less, blow them out of the water

I mean, I understand Iran's swarm strategy and surely it will work on a ship or two in a hot conflict.
That said, it was very nice of the US commander not to run one of them under the keel of his warship. Perhaps they can fax a thank you letter or something.

I'm not sure why that'd get you a downvote.
When that scenario is gamed out, swarms of low tech fastboat bombs create chaos in confined waters. We should create a published exclusion zone and sink anything that violates it. My guess is our ships are under some bullshite ROE that endangers our sailors. Doesn't anyone remember the USS Cole?
