I can, on the metric of common decency. frick living in ohio.

I would be pretty miserable living in Cleveland. I had the unfortunate experience of spending a decent amount of time there during the winter and I hated it. Columbus was pretty nice.

Another metric that should be getting more attention from this list is that Louisiana is ranked #16 in affordability, not extremely high but not that low either; yet is ranked #47 in household income...

ohio is a frozen arse wasteland with shitty people to match.

Should be banished from the union. We can get by with 49 states, tbh.

How Massachusetts with Harvard, MIT, among others is ranked 29th for higher education while Mississippi is ranked 30th just doesn't seem reasonable.

Southern hospitality goes a long way for the state of Louisiana, it a real thing compared to most other states. You just have to be careful you don't get cultured and have your head blown off.

No. Catholic.

Most places have a dominant culture regardless of where you live. SLC itself is plenty diverse, though, as LDS are less than 40% in SLC proper. I've had a grand total of 0 issues, and the general QoL is super high.

And somehow we’ve managed more national championships in the 2000’s than A&M and Michigan have combined since the 1950’s.

Louisiana is 50th and it really isn't even close.

Their best category ranking is 42nd in Quality of Life.

Mississippi is 49th, but they've got a 6 and a 16 category ranking. New Mexico has an 8 ranking at #48. WV has a 23 and Alabama has a 25.

Louisiana couldn't do better than forty fricking two.

Having lived in Iowa and growing up/currently living in LA I can say there is absolutely no comparison.

Iowa is a fantastic state, and better than Louisiana in basically ever measurable category. It's depressing how shitty Louisiana really has become.

Seems like this metric would place some questionable states at the top.

I wonder what they're calling quality of life.

I guess I hate a high quality of life then. I prefer the city so I don't know what North Dakota could possibly offer me.
