just tuning in. has anything happened to deviate from the theory that he paid some mob guy to kill all three of them-so Buster gets 10mil and carries on the law practice. but he chickened out and ran and hid somewhere?

When 4 generations of your family have never been told "no" by anyone, that tends to happen. I have a good friend from college who's from a prominent Hampton County family and let's just say Alex isn't the first Murdaugh who could be called a mass murderer. There are stories about his grandaddy that make them look worse than a Mafia family.

He said the reason he lied to SLED/LE was from being paranoid from drugs and not trusting SLED. Why didn’t he trust them?
Luckily, you’ve never found yourself under investigation. Anyone who has knows not to trust cops.

And that’s where he was sitting when he shot Paul.
I'm short and when I sit on our golf cart, my hips are where the are when I walk. I think you have something there that the defense expert didn't expect.

If someone did it for him, it was either Cousin Eddie or a black guy. No mafia down here. There are stories about Cosa Nostra members from NYC getting run out of the SC Lowcountry by the Klan and law enforcement back in the 1940's. The Bubba's back then would have lumped Italians in with the blacks when it came to race.

Since you’re from there, is there any idea where all of the money went? I know that he had a lot of toys, bought both his kids expensive rifles for Christmas, etc, but to steal and go through 8 million, in addition to his salary is incredible.
Selling drugs? Human trafficking?
There’s an interview with a former prostitute who says that she was forced to service him, and that he became violent with her. IDK if she’s telling the truth, but if she is, I’m wondering if he was the person behind the scenes running it all.

Drugs and lifestyle. His opioid addiction was costing him a ton. And they were involved in all kinds of the high society life. His old USC tailgate spot was literally right beside the West stand entrance at Williams-Brice, right at the corner of George Rogers Blvd and Bluff Road. They were fixtures at all kinds of events. And as someone who knows the legal landscape of SC, it used to be a hell of a lot easier to make a killing practicing law. There's too many lawyers here now, especially with Charleston School of Law opening a few decades ago. Everyone wants to live there, and that part of SC (Hampton and Allendale Counties) is so economically depressed that it's our own MS Delta. He stole because it was probably the only way he could maintain the same income he'd had for years.

I know that you are addressing the specific question of why not to trust the police...but not trusting and directly lying to the police (about the cold-blooded murder of wife and child) are two very different things. People might understand why a person wouldn't trust the cops, yet not understand why a person would lie to them about the murder of family members.

Unless he slips up badly on cross, I don't see how the jury can convict him on the murders.
Literally all they have is that he was at the crime scene within 15-20 minutes of when two people may have stopped using their phone.

Guilty.
The gobs of snot coming off his chin while he described his monstrous alcoholic murdering son as the most special, sweetest, humble, mature boy in the world strangely didn't sway me.

One of the YouTube people just said the penalty for the financial crimes he just confessed to would carry the same amount of prison time as the homicides.
Did I hear that correctly? Is that true?

I haven’t paid attention at all to the trial, but that guy killed his family. If he is taking the stand, then he thought before his testimony it was more likely than not he was going to be convicted.

Alex Murdaugh said,"My boy was lying face down."
Riddle me this, how did he know which son it was? With more pictures of Paul, his hair color is all but identical to Buster's hair color and with much of the head blown off, how did Alex know, for sure which one it was? Buster could have come home to see his Grandfather.
It WAS a dark and drizzly night.

So you have no idea what you're talking about in your further statement, no offense.

I think you heard it correctly. Not sure if it's true.
He and his entire family might be the most offensive, evil people ever born. I laughed when he challenged ANYONE listening to find ANYONE that knew his son, that would say anything except he was a great guy.
Watch the Netflix series about them out now. EVERYONE that knew him said he was a horrible, spoiled and entitled punk. Even his closest friends.
He literally got 3 times drunk past the limit, called his GF a whore, slapped her across the face, climbed into a boat refusing to give up the keys, and ran into a bridge killing one of the girls in the boat. He then lied, said his best friend was the one driving, and had his family go on a mission to cover it all up and frick over his best friend.
And this is who the dad says was the sweetest, most kind person in the world.

That doesn’t mean I don’t have information about what happened and that I don’t know why someone accused of murder would testify.
I simply haven’t watched the trial.
