He is so full of shite.

He said the reason he lied to SLED/LE was from being paranoid from drugs and not trusting SLED. Why didn’t he trust them? What else was he hiding. He had LE in his back pocket for years.
Why admit lying now? The State has known for at least a year he was lying about his alibi. AM knew that. Griffin and Poot knew that also.

Also that Morgan chick was way too hot to be with that nerd. She obviously was putting up with him for his family's money.

This was my biggest takeaway from the Netflix doc.

I think he is saying "pau paul" but it is really hard to tell with his drawl.

they all tolerated him because of that. The doc lets them get away with "well you know Paul wouldn't let us drive even though we knew he was blind drunk" they had probably done that with him dozens of times. No one stopped him because they didn't want to get cut off or they knew if he gets pulled over he'll get out of it so its best he drive.

Dude kept a straight face when the 911 operator asked him if the place was a house or a trailer.

At the time he may have been shocked that she didn't know who he was. Then she asked his phone number-doesn't 911 get that automatically.

I was surprised he didn't tell her who to call and that making decisions was way above her pay grade.

Classic case of upper middle class lawyers acting like royalty. Shocking.

And a bunch of lawyers upset because someone was stealing their money. Oh, the irony.

None of his testimony makes any sense. He was cognizant enough to request GPS data from GM, but not enough to not lie to authorities investigating the murders?

Yes I've lied about stealing money from many of my clients, yes I've lied about drugs, yes I lied about not being at the kennels that night, but trust me I did not kill them!!!

I think Alex did it, but him taking the stand weighs in his favor imo, for completely non-substantive reasons. The defense is counting on there being one or two jurors who hear that near-ancient Lowcountry drawl and tell themselves someone of his pedigree and stature would have never done this. I got back to the office and pulled up the WLTX livestream to listen. He sounded almost exactly like I remember my grandaddy. And while this has nothing to do with one's actual guilt or innocence, you better believe Harpootlian is counting on that nostalgia from a South Carolina native on that jury.

Not if a human didn't manually enter it in a database. On a cell they would have to triangulate the location via cell towers

That and also to preemptively address the lies and inconsistencies plus the cutesy nicknames, both of which could fall flat but worth a shot. Of course it all rides on the cross, of course he’s going to look great on his own direct.

ETA: On cross “in any written or oral statement or comment relating to the murders, have you ever referred to Maggie as Mags and Paul as PauPau?” Assuming he has not, of course, which I haven’t heard or seen from him in all this. Maybe a nothing burger question but it stuck in my head.

And that’s where he was sitting when he shot Paul.
And the 2 shots to the back of Maggie’s head shows that he was really angry with her.

Zero chance SLED had some vendetta against Murdaugh before all this.
