Years ago, I worked with some Microsoft management.
As a whole, inconsiderate assholes.
Would make you have a useless meeting on the morning of Easter, for example
Just to do it.

Good for shareholders like me. Bad if you work there.

Having worked there in a previous life, that would be about 60% of what's needed

Did y’all watch their Copilot demo and what they’re doing with ChatGPT AI? You could ask it to summarize meetings you missed because the meetings happen in Teams and there are transcripts. Middle managers that exist to inform upper managers aren’t going to be as necessary. If someone wants to know what’s happening with a certain team they can just ask Copilot.

I’m not much of a tech guy, but our company switched from Google to Microsoft last year, and it fuggin sucks. Teams chat is clunky compared to Google chat, and same for outlook email vs gmail.

Getting high on their own supply. AI integration into Office apps will lead to more productivity, which means less need for human workers.

Two very different approaches. MS tries to do everything, and the results are often mediocre. System managers are meant to reduce the software down to features which are most essential for their business, but they rarely do anything beyond blocking.

Google is made to be super simple and minimalistic. In many cases, the functionality comes up short of what is really needed.
