Sounds like a typical late teen / early 20s girl.

That and being retarded aren’t mutually exclusive.

The whole point of my post was that I don't engage in situations like that. I extricate myself from confrontational situations because I'm armed.

But whatever, you got your faggy little jab in.

Firstly, individuals with a concealed carry license are among the most lawful people in this country. Irrefutable. Secondly, panhandling is against the law per the Sheriffs office and there are two ordinances that our wonderful mayor is looking to pass that deals with exactly this kind of aggressive panhandling. Since none of us know the full story yet and everything is speculation, I'm willing to bet on a member of the most lawful group of people in the country that required hours of training prior to being able to carry a concealed weapon over a serial lawbreaking beggar.

I have been asked for money hundreds of times in BR and only a handful of times has the POS gotten belligerent after my refusal. And only once was I approached in a threatening manner while my kids were with me. I did not feel the need to shoot that man, but I do not tolerate strangers rushing me especially with my children in tow.

I would love imagine there is video of this if it happened outside of a grocery store and that would show if the panhandler posed any real threat or if maybe the guy was trigger happy.

Lots of murders in SBR were one of several serial killers or were some form of domestic situation like the car dealer killing his ex rather than paying her off.

There are some bad neighborhoods in South BR - Gardere, Blvd de Province, Valley Park, Manchester, the Bottom.

There are murders in these neighborhoods but still probably 75% occur in NBR

wouldn’t use the term “White Knight” here as that tends to imply some dude jumping in where he doesn’t belong in hopes of favorable treatment later. Some here will say he should have “kept to himself” but as men we have a duty to defend the weak against predators. I see zero issue with him speaking up for two young girls. I had this EXACT scenario happen in Charlotte a couple of years back. Panhandler was all up on a couple of college girls by a bar. I just said something lot the effect of leave them alone and the guy turned on me like a rabid dog. Was not the reaction I was expecting frankly and I thought we were going to go for a minute until a couple of other guys stepped in and the bum took off. I will wait for the facts to come out on this one but can see him being totally in the right here.

The only thing that I’ll throw out is that just because they were female doesn’t mean they necessarily needed someone to protect them. Plenty of times that can escalate a situation in an unneeded way.

It’s entirely possible he made a fair read on the situation and in dealing with someone that may have mental health issues it went sideways. But it’s still a jump to get there from where we are now.

Not quite sure how to handicap a bum-vs.-white-knight slug race.

I’m obviously not suggesting they be shot on sight, but what happens after you just push him away? Maybe he’s high or mentally ill and responds violently. Now the situation is out of your control.

Yes, it is entirely possible he got pissed because dude called him out. He gets aggressive with dude and gets shot. I had a panhandler spit on my window at college and corporate because I ignored him at the light.

But those areas are fairly easily identified.

You can take a look at a crime map and the major roads and generally know where the problem spots are and why.

Just to throw out random neighborhoods, you aren’t getting lots of crime on Pollard Estates or Kenilworth. Most areas that are bad are ones people know are bad and have been so for quite a while,

Blvd de Province was a shithole 20+ years ago, so this isn’t a case of problems migrating. Although Katrina did help spread the problem areas around a bit.

Kaylee is what we call a “useful idiot”. Kaylee thinks because SHE didn’t get into a confrontation that she can say this bum didn’t deserve to die. But Kaylee has no idea what transpired when he got killed.

STFU Kaylee and quit opining about the justification of the shooting till you know all the facts.

“I don’t like confrontation”. Well you might feel differently about this shooting if you were actually confronted by the deceased.

Stupid count.

You seem like a very stable, very rational human being.

Yup, I had one get violent with me the other day after he asked to “borrow my phone because the number wasn’t working on his”

He got super pissed and started cussing me and I told him to leave and let me do my job. They get irate when you don’t buy their bullshite and then get violent.

exactly. BRPD refuses (for whatever reason) to run these bums off. Just like LEOs refused to run off the protesters at the Laffy Shell station yesterday. That led to a confrontation between protesters and the public. Same scenario here. Bum is harassing people for a handout. Cops refuse to intervene. Bum gets killed by citizen who feels threatened. This is an abject failure of law enforcement and govt. (as usual).

People calling for tolerance and empathy for the bums are wrong. Plain and simple. Get rid of these bums, no issues. Leave them to do their thing and eventually someone gets hurt.

I dont know man. If I saw young girls being harrassed by a hobo I would intervene. But if they were already walking away then probably wouldn't. Sometimes I feel like we just sit back and do nothing all to often in society now for fear of consequences. In an ideal world, you do what's right and honorable always regardless of consequences. Exactly. Would you be willing to hand those girls a couple hundred thousand dollars? Because if you intervene, shoot the guy, and go to court, that's what a legal defense is going to cost you. Even if you're cleared it's very expensive if it isn't a black and white self defense situation and you get charged.

Physically attacking them? Yeah idk if I would be able to stand there and do nothing. Verbally assaulting them? Not getting involved.
