Y’all want me and my generation to go out and socialize at events, but the cost is astronomical. $150/person for a concert ticket plus the excess fees from Ticketmaster.
Yeah let’s think about this for a second. You wanna know what jacked concert tickets through the roof? It’s the fact that a whole fricking generation decided that they wanted to download music for free or just buy the song they liked and not the album. It destroyed a large revenue stream of the music industry. The only source of revenue left is in touring and concert ticket sales. Where this used to be the primary source of income for bands, the labels are now in on it, often requiring artists to pay them a percentage of their tour revenue. So think about that the next time you spend 99 cents downloading a song on iTunes. You’re the reason it cost 150+ per person to see a concert.

You’re making baseless accusations. As someone who made a living playing music for five years and is connected to some nationally known bands, I have a fair understanding of the music business.

Why are you so hostile all the time? Is this what this great generation (of which I'm a part of) is supposed to be about? Just being a dick nonstop. I'm kinda mad that you're representing us in this thread

It's weird. Some people are contrarians but he's legit furious all the time.

Am I? What do you know about a 360 record deal? Like it or not, labels now have their hands in the touring and merchandising cookie jar thanks to the decline in record sales. I will offer one correction though, touring is the main source of revenue for bands but the labels still make a fortune from streaming services.
If you’re unfamiliar with it, feel free to read about it.

realizd millennials are smarter
Let me be the first to inform your dumb arse that while Millenials tout themselves to be the most "educated" generation, education does not correlate well to being "smarter". A college graduate barely scraping by slinging coffee is not smarter than the kid who went to a trade school and makes $60k+/year.
quote:
spend less
Yes, they also have less disposable income to spend. They have saddled themselves with student loan debt for degrees in dead end fields. But they are "smarter" in your small mind.
quote:
get divorced less
They aren't marrying as much and those that do are marrying later. This is probably the only "smart" thing you can actually claim. Of course, divorce chances increase with age and the Millenial cohort has plenty of time yet to catch up to the average divorce rate and data shows they are likely to do just that.

It's not the OT until someone starts touting trade school.

People need to get out of the house and socialize.
All the tats, piercings, sky screaming, weirded out hair colorings, the absolute social obnoxiousism of the population...screw that! You can have this society. Take your hipsters, your sjw's, your twittidiots, your can't look away from the phone screen drivers and go the hell away. I want none of it.
Staying inside and away from the screwed up mess called American Society sounds like a solid plan. Oh, and I don't give a damn if my deliveries come in paper, plastic, or a nuclear containment canister. Just gimme my damned straw for my HFC surgery drink and GTFO without taking a crap on my sidewalk or sticking needles in my trees. Go recharge your electric micro vehicle on someone else's outlet too.

Where do you live that is a echo chamber of a tiny segment of society?
I swear some of you are so delusional. It's amazing

For real
Plus going out is expensive.
$10 uber there
$7 per beer. 10-12 beers
$10 uber home
So $120 to go drink a few beers and talk to my friends in a public setting. Yea that shite gets old

I got Mexican food delivered last night on UberEats for $15 and picked up a 6 pack of beer for $9. That's just the Uber rides and maybe a Bud Light right there

They really aren't old enough to hit the divorce wall, usually late 30's.

If I wanted to start a business make an app that is simple to use and contract with a company that provides delivery drivers.
No cash on drivers to reduce theft.
Tip and fees are paid online.
To keep the drivers busy during the non peak hours provide pharmacy deliveries to seniors.

Another favorite trope of the OT.
Science and engineering major have been steadily gaining popularity for a decade plus, while humanities degrees are at an all time low in popularity.

I have some newly single friends, and it’s pretty crazy the amount of people on these dating apps who want to just sit on the couch and Netflix as a date. These people are entirely skipping the dating phase and hopping directly into “old couple” phase.
I haven’t turned on a television in months. Probably less than 3 times in all of 2018. This would never work for me.

This board is littered with first generation college graduates who think liberal arts constitutes gender studies only
