Instead of complaining about Baton Rouge...

Maybe some of you baws should move out of your Ascension Parish tract houses and into EBR instead. That way you could vote there and try to change it. The reason Broome got elected is because baws like you all fled. Once you flee, you have no right to complain.

I disagree. It would be great to be able to move back to my hometown and be near family and friends. But because BR is so terrible, that’s not a viable option. I believe that gives me a valid right to complain about BR’s shitholeness.

So if someone moved their family to AP because the schools and cost of living are better they arent allowed to complain about BR, even if they work and spend time there?

White flight is not a product of racism as much as it is economics. Schools in EBR are absolutely terrible unless you win the “lottery” and get your kid into the magnet program at BR High. Otherwise, you’re stuck putting them in terrible public schools, terrible charter schools, or paying out the nose for private schools.
After weighing the economic factors of housing prices, commuting costs, and schooling costs, commuting from the suburbs to send kids to better public schools is the most affordable option.

And I still live here. Emergency vehicles and police sirens passing by most of last night. I was wondering how many were shot/killed.
