Accidental shooting is a term I hate. Once the gun is in your hands every movement made is calculated.

It's amazing how many "accidental" shootings happen when you draw your weapon and point it at someone with your finger on the trigger.

There's a YouTube video hosted by that website and you can hear the cop say, after he looks down into the car with the shot guy...we have a suspect here that refuses to get out of the car.

lol turn your volume up. He said it in this video as well.

Thomas’s wife, Darien Ehorn, was ejected from the car and killed. Thomas, 26, will likely face DUI and manslaughter charges.

Feaster shot him in the neck, striking the C7 and T1 vertebrae, which could leave him paralyzed for life.

That's the most unreal accidental shooting I've ever seen. Why even pull your gun?

What a fricking idiot. What in the hell was his reasoning for having his gun drawn at all?

Also, the article says that only one shot was fired but they are taught to fire two...that video fairly clearly shows that he fires two shots. Am I missing something?

And was he looking for the casing with his flashlight?

He did not even have his gun drawn and walking up, he drew his gun, shot the guy and then holstered it.

It looks like one of the training simulations where things pop up and you have to shoot them

Was wondering the same thing. And they cite it as a reason charges weren't initially brought. How were those not two discharges in the video?

I guess they changed their minds and brought charges after the guy died? Shooting and possibly paralyzing someone isn't a big enough deal?

What kind of procedures are we teaching police when they draw and point at a guy climbing out of a car wreck? Was this guy a dangerous fugitive?

Hopefully this cop does a little time. If the shooting is found to be "accidental", then he should never be allowed to hold a firearm again. What a fat fricking idiot.

The pistol discharges in mid-stride and the officer both flinches his head to the right and does a stutter step indicative of an officer not prepared for nor intentionally firing his pistol.

I hate when people try to say the gun went off accidentally. Bull. fricking. shite. Every person that's ever had any kind of weapons training knows that you keep your finger straight and off the trigger until you're ready to fire. That's bullshite he intentionally squeezed the trigger.
