I know my personal and work phone, my wife's, and my sister's (one digit off of mine). That's it. I still remember my home phone number from growing up though even though we haven't had that number in over 15 years....

There is a clear line of demarcation of numbers that I remember. I remember phone numbers, some of which aren't even current, from around the time I first got a cell phone when I was about 15 and before, and I don't remember the numbers after. What is the point of memorizing numbers now? There is none. It's pointless brain clutter. Mental energy is best spent elsewhere.

I know my husband's phone number and my work phone number. I know my cell number but do have to think about it sometimes.

There really isn't a reason to remember phone numbers nowadays.

I remember precisely four phone numbers: my mom's, my mom's desk number, my dad's parents, and my own number. I've forgotten any others I might have known. My mom's number, my mom's desk number, and my dad's parents were the three numbers I had to know growing up if I ever needed help. My mom's been retired for five years and my grandparents have been dead for 10, but I can still rattle those numbers off like it's nothing because they were ingrained from the beginning. I know my number because it's mine.
Any other number, though, ain't getting remembered.

Most phone numbers that I remember are home or business numbers.

What if aliens pick you up for medical experiments and drop you off in the middle of a desert without your phone?
What will you do then? Hmmm?

I'm 32 and remember almost every phone number i memorized as a kid; both home phone numbers i had, most of my friends home phone numbers, my dads office, my parents cell phones before i had one myself, a few other random ones.
Now i know my cell and office number because i leave it in voicemails every day, but i can barely even remember my soon to be fiance's area code on her phone number.
