In this age of smartphones, do people even remember phone numbers anymore?

I remember about 20 or so

When someone asks me for my digits, I usually have to look in my phone.

I know mine, my parents' land and mobile #s, and like 2 friends

I know four current numbers and would recognize a couple of others. I know about five old ones from my childhood.

I know my moms number and that's really about it.

It's not that we've become lazy. We just don't have the need to memorize numbers anymore. The only phone numbers I really have memorized are from the time before cellphones were a widespread thing.

I know far more work extensions than family/friend numbers, since work calls require me to actually enter a number vs press a contact.

I forced myself to memorize my SO’s number in case I’m ever without my phone. I should probably memorize my mother’s. I know her old landline which is no longer in use, but not her cell.

This. I recall numbers from 30 years ago as a kid, but never see the numbers of places or friends after entering them once into my phone.

Kind of shame. Back in the day I could remember numbers like a 4chan autist.

I know the important ones, 15 or so, by heart.

I know mine and my wife's only because you need them so often for dealing with things online or other businesses. Beyond that the only ones I remember are ones that predate cell phones when you had to dial a number.
